Loser (http://www.freelancestar.com/News/FLS/2004/062004/06242004/1409225)

He's lost his freaking mind and calling the Wizards the lowest of the lowest. Those sound like fighting words if you ask me:redpunch:

How can people call the Wizards the worst team when Washington has an even worse team, the Capitols? Also, if you want a bad basketball team, look at the team that started 1-26, or something like that (Magic).

Hard to argue that the Wizards aren't one of the worst sports franchises in the pros right now. I think his trade is dumb though. Basically, he advocated trading the entire team except for Haywood, Blake, Dixon and Jameson for Francis. You can't trade Hughs and Arenas... someone needs to man the two. You can't trade Jefferies and Hayes and Brown (to make sure the deal works) What the trade did was perform a surgery. It cut out some disease and wasted money. I agree with him that this move is a start, but his second move is not well thought out.

I don't know guys, being honest I think you have to admit that the Wiz are one of the worst franchises in all of sports...

I agree. They continue to get good talent and still can't win.

I'm not so sure Francis is better than Arenas either.

Uhh, did I hear Washington Capitals (and yes, with an A, not an O) are the worst team in this town? Up until last season, they were the ONLY DC team making the playoffs. God forbid they have one bad season...After all, the WIZ make the playoffs all the time, right?

Hermagg - way to stick up for the caps. they were consistently good for a long time, and will be back in the playoffs before the o's and the boulez.

Regarding Steve Francis - the columnist in question said that Francis is a "local favorite." I can't believe this is true. I am a die-hard Terp fan, but I can't stand that guy. I just see him as a flashy, chest-beating ball hog, and a big baby (remember when he looked all bitter about getting drafted by Vancouver?). Not what i want in a point guard. It was kind of like having Deion on your team - Francis didn't seem like a real terp to me, and i'm glad he only stayed a year.

Arenas and Francis are both very similar players. They are both ball-hogs, and not what I would like to see out of a point guard. If the trade were Areans for Francis, straight-up, I wouldn't do it.

The Wizards are not anywhere near where the Capitals are as a franchise. The Capitals have been the most successful Washington franchise the past five years. The Wizards fit right into the class of the Los Angeles Clippers and Arizona Cardinals.

This was pretty funny:

Even Stackhouse, who fancied himself a property manager and a self-diagnosing doctor, had worn out his welcome in three short seasons in D.C.

However, this guy doesn't know his facts, since Craphouse only spent two short seasons here.

I'm so glad he's outta here.

Yup, and it seems that things have not changed at all. Just like Francis, Arenas has the physical tools, but Francis definitely seems like more of a baby. He needs to stop complaining about where he's playing and man up.

When you pull a John Elway, you better be a god in your sport, or else that stuff is always going to come back to you. And yes, hopefully people will feel the same way about Eli too soon. ;)

Like someone said, Unless Gilbert is traded straight up for Francis. It's no way in freaking hell I make a move like that.

And Frankly, I'd rather keep Gilbert instead of Francis. Look! I live in Houston and watch enough Rockets games. And Francis is not all of that if you ask me. And he never should have made the All-Star team. Also, what comes around goes around. When Francis didn't won't to go to Toronto when he was drafted is coming back to hunt his Arse.

Now! he doesn't won't to go to Orlando but has no choice in the matter. You reap what you sow...

The only reason the Capitals will make it back to the playoffs sooner is because of the off chance that there happens to be a great prospect for them to draft this year. In baseball there are not usually any can't miss prospects. Also, I think that the Wizards could make it into the playoffs within the next two years, as long as this trade doesn't work out.

Wow. I was confused there for a second. I thought he was being serious. Have the Wizards even made the playoffs since changing their name?

Ok regarding the Wizards as one of the worst franchises in sports...they, without a doubt, are. Let me give you a list of some of the players they once had, and then for some reason felt the need to get rid of them...

Chris Webber (traded for Mitch Richmond)
Rasheed Wallace (traded for Rod Strickland)
Ben Wallace (they cut him)
Richard Hamiltion (traded for Stackhouse)

Now granted had the Wizards/Bullets kept some of these guys, they wouldn't have gotten some of the others, but still, just look at the guys they got in return. At the moment, the only major sports franchise worse than the Wizards is the L.A. Clippers.

WTF? So we're suppose to trade our whole team for Francis, who will probably get hurt in a month, and then watch all these players go on to become superstars. I say no

Right now we're an improving team. We just need some backbone. We couldn't win in the 4th quarter last year. If we can fix that I can see us winning 40 this year. LETS GO BUZZARDS
