That these Wizards really miss kwame Brown and Ethan Thomas. Even though those 2 aren't considered real world beaters. The team and staff is really counting on those 2 guys to step their games up especially Kwame. We already know what Etan can do in the paint when it comes to playing defense. but kwame is the real wild-card here.
He (kwame) claims that he's ready for a big season and to show the world why he was selected #1. But is he really ready and how does he know what his game may bring against other opponents? I guess he's being his own critic, or someone or somebody has filled his head with kool-Aid. Great, dont get me wrong. Confidence in yourself never hurted anyone. But talk is cheap and not Kwame's contract. So it's time for this guy to put up or shut up. Sure, he's gotten better every year he's been in the league. but has he gotten better to a point where he's considered a game changing PF/C ? we shall see this year.
But the rest of the team can forget it without these 2 playing good defense as well as offense. Because the rest of the team stinks on defense. And when they play some of the better offensive ran teams and teams that's been together and in the same system. Then defense must be a main priority to help propel these guys to the next level. And frankly, right now. The wizards are a scoring team with little defense to compliment the offense. basically just the opposite of the redskins problem:laugh:.
But what we are right now is a poor man version of the Mavericks. And we know what happens to the Mavericks every year once they make the playoffs. They get tooken out by a better defensive team that plays hard-nosed defense. But unfortunately, the Wizards play in the eastern conference where defense is part of the motto. And with teams like the Pacers,Pistons,Heat and some other defensive minded teams in the East. the Wizards better bring their lunch pales to every game and start playing better defense or this will be a dissapointing season for players on the squad that had such high hopes. Especially with a Guy by the name of A. Jamison coming on board.
