hey guys, im doin a report for school on the success of teams and if they have a high payroll or not. Do you feel that if the expos( or whatever theyre called) have a high payroll that they will be more successful than if they had an average or low payroll. thanks.

I think you'll find the consensus is to have just a few big named players locked in for short term deals to get fans in the seats.

It won't be a huge issue at first, but if they struggle next year, their only recourse is to PR the hell out of a few big named players to sell tickets.

So the plan should be to get two guys with big bats for two years while bringing in a young grew to mold and be ready to form the core of the team.

I did a Statistics project on the correlation between wins and salary... I think the higher payroll cant hurt, but its not an automatic indicator of success unfortunately. Especially if you dont start out with much...
