Is it just me or does it not matter how much the Wizards are up by at the half. There is something about the thrid period. As a fan, I just find myself hoping they won't be down much!
Is it just me, or does Haywood get hacked with no calls on a regular basis? Of course in the third period, the Wizards can't buy any calls either.
Ah well, we'll just have to see how the game goes from here.

Yea, it doesn't matter who they play, they just can't blow a team out...it always gets close sometime in the second half. I bet they pull away with 2 minutes left

nah, its that we start getting momentum in the second quarter and before the half. Then the opposing coach says to play tighter defense, and that always messes us up. THe good thing is that they can't play tight defense all game, and so we always come out of the slump.
Once we get our big guys back (although I'm loving Haywood and Ruffin), I think we'll do better in this situation since we will be able to just put the ball inside.
It may also have something to do with Juan Dixon too. That guy is really impressing me this year, but then again I should expect the best, HE WENT TO MARYLAND!

I don't know what it is about the Wizards/Bullets, but for as long as I can remember, they've been a poor 3rd quarter team.
It doesn't seem to matter who the coach is or who the players are, they can't seem to maintain a lead in the third quarter or they get blown out and lose the game due to the third quarter.
It's just like the Redskins, regardless of the coach or the players, they can't run a screen play to save their life.

They get no respect from the officials.
It is nice to see that they are closing games with defense these days(blocked shot and charge vs. Celts, blocked shot and steal vs. the Nets).

Slowly but surely the bullets are turning around the culture of losing....these past two games are indicative of that change...they blew a lead like they always have done but instead of losing the game we win it through clutch defensive at the end....even with foul trouble with Arenas the offensive still managed to function...look at the defense that Hughes has been providing.....

Antawn Jamison has been an amazing pick-up for us. He is the sole reason we are playing this good. In my opinion, Arenas has been the weak link, unfortunately. Everyone else is filling their roles very well. Jeffries has really stepped up; Hughes is even playing more of a defensive team role. Peeler is a smart veteran off the bench. Ruffin has a ton of heart, but gets no calls :(
This game versus the Nets was a perfect example of the 'new' Wizards. Jamison was the leader and stepped up when they needed him. Hughes filled in as the #2. Hayes and Dixon were solid sparks off the bench. Haywood was in foul trouble but has shown noticeable improvement. Peeler hit some big shots in the 2nd quarter. It was enjoyable to watch and you could see the new confidence in their game.

The referees were jobbing Haywood in a big, big way. They were letting Zo get away with murder, and slapped Brenda with two quick fouls to start off the game, which made him hesitant and limited his early minutes, preventing him from playing his game.
Its the same old crap, the favoritism in refereeing shown in the NBA is worse than in any other league, and until the Wizards make the playoffs for a couple of years, they won't get any calls.

Areas is not the weak link on this team it is overall team defense. Arenas is one of our big three how can you call him a weak link also Arenas is a natural 2 and he is playing very well for us at the 1 spot. Get your facts straight before you start complaining about our players he is also only 22 same age a kwame and is way ahead of him at this point in there careers.
