Well, the Redskins aren't giving us much to root for right now so I am getting ready for the Wizards game!

ORONTO (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards will be playing without their coach again when they visit the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

Coach Eddie Jordan was hospitalized Thursday night with a blood clot in his left leg and is not expected to return to Washington's bench until Wednesday against New Jersey. With assistant Mike O'Koren handling the coaching duties Friday, the Wizards lost 116-114 in overtime at Philadelphia.

Washington had the ball with 3.9 seconds left and the score tied at 114-114, but Allen Iverson stole the inbounds pass and scored the game-winning layup with 0.2 seconds left.

Antawn Jamison, who topped the 25-point mark for the fourth straight game with 27, was one of three Wizards with a double-double and Gilbert Arenas scored 23 in the loss. Jarvis Hayes, whose 3-pointer as regulation time expired forced overtime, scored 18 off the bench.

After a five-game losing streak, the Raptors have split their last four games, including a home-and-home series against the New York Knicks.

At Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Toronto suffered a 106-102 setback. Vince Carter scored 19 points, and Morris Peterson scored 18 off the bench as the Raptors' reserves equaled the output of the starters with 51 points.

On November 23, the Wizards topped the Raptors, 106-82, at the MCI Center and have won four straight against Toronto overall.

I am liking Jarred Jeffries on Vince Carter. Jeffries is playing out of his mind right now and is shutting everyone down :) Too bad he couldn't gaurd AI :(

Great win. Once this team gets Brown or Thomas back they could be a real force...

Didn't watch the game, but the stat line looks pretty good. How did Haywood get most of his points?

Mostly dribble, drive, dish from Hughes. Although they did spread the floor in the half court a couple of times in the 3rd and 4th period and gave it to him on the block. He hit the little hook once or twice and had a couple of nice drop steps.

He didn't do anything amazing. He doesn't seem to drop the ball any more, he catches it most times its thrown his way. I am now going to knock on wood. That was my big problem with him the last few years.

Now, if he could just stay out of foul trouble we would have a legit NBA center. The team plays much better when he is on the floor. Hopefully, he can improve on this, as well as he has improved on his entry-pass catching ability.

There's no defense in the NBA?

WHAT?

How can you watch the NBA and not know that one of the main reasons for the downturn in scoring(though it's up this year) in the last few years, aside from overly controlling coaches and young players has been DEFENSE. It's simply played a lot better and more frequently than it was in the 80s and probably even early 90s, except for a couple of teams(Bulls, Knicks, Pistons)
