And that is a great offensive team but a terrible defensive time, and when we need a stop we can't get it.

The only way we can compete with the big boys is if Kwame and Etan can provide us with rebounds and defense. Right now I would put us 5th in the East behind Detroit, Indy, Miami, and Orlando.

We don't have a chance against the west unless we get Kwame and Etan to perform. That will be they key to this team all season.

The one thing that is for sure is we are very close, and it feels good to be a bullet/wizard fan

If a few more breaks had gone our way last night...things might have been better....we rimmed out a lot of shots in the first half and had some pretty bad mental lapses.....now....it used to be that if the wizards went down by 10 at half you knew that they wouldn't be able to come back but with this team there is always hope.......Indeed we do need some more defense but we also need to take better shots and get more agressive in the paint...

well it jus seemed like the bounces didn't go our way.. ure gonnna get these kinda games.. and if this team rebounds from it positivley, they will be even better.. they can't accept the fact that they have bad defense.. they need to improve from it.. show the fans that they have some heart, which i truly believe they do

according to the Wilbon plan all we have to is win 3 away west games to get in the playoffs, we already have 1 :D

Denver was last year what the wizards are this year, a team that is starting to put all the peaces together. The wizards are starting to feel out the leageu and figure out how to win tough games, they have to figure out that you cant let the better running teams get on top of you in the early goings and expect to come back and win on a consistent basis. I think they are capable of competing with the teams in the west, they are deep enough, but the mindset needs to be adjusted and I think we will see them figure it out during this season. Much improved over last year.

Denver has a great team. Look at the roster.

However, the player who beat us was Andre Miller. Who would have guessed Miller would have dropped 34? We shut Kenyon Martin down. Melo had a nice game, but didn't really hurt us.

I thought we played decent, but not great. And we still had a chance to beat a solid Western Conference team. I agree the bounces just didn't go our way. It happens.

The Lakers should be another good test for this team.

good game last night, if only they could find a way to stop Andre Miller, Wizards could have a chance. Also I was not too impressed with KMART at all, I just wonder if Jason Kidd made him look like a better player than he reall is.

The highlight of the game was when some dude hit 3 points and everybody got free pizza.

We lost because our defense was lax. We played pretty solid defense when the Nuggets were in the half-court set, although they did backdoor us a bunch of times (ie the Boykins bounce pass down the lane for the open reverse layup). Where we got killed was when the Nuggets cherry-picked us. For those unfamiliar with the term, it means when Boykins/Miller takes off towards the Nuggets basket right when the Wiz shoot, and then the rebounder hucks it to him for a breakaway layup. This happened a lot, as well as our big men getting beat down the court. They had a ton of easy layups which killed us, because every time we scored or missed, they were putting in another uncontested deuce....

Last night was just crazy.

The last second shot in the 2nd quarter by Andre Miller. Not making free throws. Earl Boykins getting offensive rebounds.

Being there I could see the team has great offensive chemistry. It was one of those nights though where everything Denver put up fell and our shots were in and out.

And it was still only a 6 point loss. The team has to step it up on D, and just have some shots go and they are real solid

If Kwame had the lungs to play yet, and played more than the 6 minutes he was in the game. We win.

one of the big differences last night was the relatively poor play of Brendan Haywood inside. Denver got a mess of easy points near the rim last night and without Brown/Thomas on the floor Haywood needs to come and play EACH night :)

one of the growing pains of a younger team is getting players to focus and come to work each night.

of course the transition defense in the fourth quarter was horrendous as well. the Wizards made Earl Boykins look like Tiny Archibald for crissakes!
