I missed the game. I don't even think it was televised, was it?
I know we lost and Shaq dropped 40, but how'd we look?

It was on Comcast. We looked like we once again did not want to play D. And the big 3 really struggled offensively. Neither Hughes, Arenas, or Jamison got 20, and all shot very poorly (15-57 between them, I think). When that happens, and when we don't play D, and we play a good team, we're going to get blown out like this. This would've been the perfect opportunity to take one from the Heat too because Wade got hurt early in the game, but Shaq then took over and we couldn't do anything about it. Haywood disappeared, surprise surprise. And Kwame looked alright. He looked scared when he was being guarded by Shaq, but shot really well and hit 4 of 5 free throws. He's got to get much more aggressive on the boards, he had only 4 rebounds last night. That's really the one thing that's holding him back from being a great player, his points per minute this year is pretty good I think, but he's not getting many rebounds.
This wasn't really that bad of a loss. It was on the road to the best team in the East, and our 3 top scorers were just off. If Wade is out for the game tomorrow night at MCI, we should be able to pull out the home win. That would be big for our confidence before we go on the West Coast swing.

Kwame really didn't shoot as well as the box score indicates....two of his made shots were fifteen foot bank shots that luckily went in....he looked worse than Haywood guarding Shaq....Jamison had a terrible night and we had no answer for Shaq....that was the difference IMO.

I was at the game last night and kwame and Jamison were about the only guys making plays for the wiz. Shaq just had one of those dominating games that he can. For the game Wednesday, Wade is still up in the air w/ a sprained ankle

We must of saw two different games last night
Jamison and Kwame were hardly the Wizards MVP's from last night's game....Jamison had one of his worst nights as a Wizard...

I think Kwame had a decent game....good offensively and I think he did an acceptable job when he was bodied up with Shaq....his defensive switches weren't very good and looked a bit lost out there....but when he had shaq backing into him he played as well as could be expected...better than Haywood.....nobody on the wizards had a good night....if any of our big three had gotten it going and if we had hit some more free throws we would have been in this game and most likely won it...

Kwame will start to mix it up more inside. Over the next 5 games you will see him with at least one 10 rebounds in 1 game. He was hurt a long time. He hasnt been in there mixing it up. Im sure he feel out of place right now. It was his foot. I doubt he is totally comfortable with all those big bodies jumping up and down around his feet. Plus, he doesnt have his legs to jump well yet. Gil was busting on him because he cant get off the ground. Be patient. He only played in the second half and Shaq was being a monster last night. He missed the whole offseason. No training camp. They are estimating he want be 100% till the end of Jan 05. If this is the case, I though he looked awesome last night.

Our FT shooting wasnt bad.

The only one that didnt shoot well was Jamison with 1-4.
Lets say he shoot 3-4, thats only 2 more points.
We didnt loose as bad as the score. We were in it with 5 minutes to go, but then again, thats what good teams do to you. They know the can blow you away when they need to. Kind of like we have been doing to people.
We really never even got to the dance. They could always go to Shaq. Same as the first 2 games. We havent had an answer for him. We need a different strategy.
I believe it's Haywood and Kwame on the floor together.
We need to keep the pressure on him. He is prone to getting tired and fouling if you pound on him, make him run, make him defend. Gil and Hughes need to drive on him. Get him on the bench in foul trouble. Thats the answer for Shaq. The BENCH.
Haywood, Kwame, Jamison, Hughes and Gil
This is what I want to see tomarrow night.
