Hey guys, just some thoughts on our new baseball team:
The "Washington Nationals" is a great name. It's catchy, and it represents the power that this city has. The colors are great, but the logo is a little boring - kind of like an All-Star logo.
I've already fallen for the Nats, they are my team. I have a feeling this city will fall for them too. Frank Robinson (a legendary Baltimore Oriole) signed a 1-year contract with us to coach through the season. If he does poorly, we can just let him go next year. But it's Frank man, let's hope he does well.
And the other issue, ownership, will be THE deciding factor in how often we will be a contender. If any inside party has the right to choose who can buy the team, we are in luck. We want somebody that will be a BIG spender (obviously), and is ruthless to win the division.
Imagine RFK in 3 years, rumbling in a playoff series with the Cardinals. Or imagine being in our new state-of-the-art stadium, with the capital building out in the distance of left-center field. If you've never been to a playoff baseball game, there's nothing like it, I don't care if this IS a football forum. I've never seen so many people holding their hands over their mouths in anticipation for each pitch. Hopefully you guys will come out and support the Nats even during these two 'building' years. It will be a freakin' awesome time in Washington.
Summer in the city, hot girls with skimpy clothing, beer and steak, oh yeah - and some baseball!
 :40oz: :boobies: :wavetowel :peaceout:
