I log onto ESPN today to see a poll asking people who will win the Eastern Conference. No where on it is the Wizards, they had Miami, Cleveland, Detroit, Philly and "other". Philly wasn't even seen as being anywhere near a contender until they got the declining Chris Webber. You put two popular players on one team and every analyst in the country gets an instant hard-on.

Anyway, Chad Ford was about to start a chat and I decided to enter it and ask why the Wizards continue to get no respect among the media. I send in my question, the chat starts, and half way through it ESPN locks it so that only insiders can read the whole chat. So now I don't even know if he answered my question or not, IMO he probably didn't.

ESPN sucks.

Take it easy bud. What do you expect? It's not like the Wiz has been a powerhouse or even close to a contender for that matter. Point Blank? They have sucked for years.

All the others are the real contenders in the East and they just put Philly on there b/c they are the flavor of the day w/ the Webber trade. You win on the court anyway, who cares what these have been's and never will be's think?

I agree with Gamebreaker that they should of included the Wizards on that poll. Overall, it's no big deal, but it continues to send a message that we are not to be taken seriously. We have proved that we are to be taken seriously and we have a lot better record than Philly this year and only .5 games behind Cleveleand's record....

So have the Bulls, yet ESPN is already permanently attached to Ben Gordon and Chicago's jock.

With Hughes and Kwame healthy, the Wiz have a better shot at winning the East than Cleveland does. And they have sucked for years too. LeBron is not that good yet that he can win it all with the team he's got around him. He may be someday, but not this year. And the Webber trade will make Philly about as much better as the Vinsanity trade made NJ better. Not a whole lot. They need to get a good, true PG and move AI back to the 2 if they wanna compete again. My vote is for Detroit though. They brought in some quality backups this year for depth for the playoffs, something Miami doesn't have.

And I agree that ESPN needs to get off the Bulls' jocks. Why do they think people care about them anymore? Jordan hasn't played there in 7 years. Talk about over-hyped, they're too young to do anything this year.

How is Cleveland a contender? Or moreso, how are they a contender any more than the Wizards?

Their not in my mind...but the allure of Lebron James makes them more appealing to alot of people in the media....:whoknows:

And we beat them.

They will see what what, when Hughes gets back.
Kwame looked in shape and I believe EJ will help keep him focused on rebounds and block. Thats what he needs to do the next 5 games. The O will come.

We still have a ton of upside.

If we can play the D we played last night, we are gold.
We have more fouls to give now. With Hughes back, we have the best 1,2, 3 in the league and we have a ton of folks off the bench. Hayes 2/3, Dixon 1/2 6th man, Blake and Peeler PG, Jefferies 3/4, Etan, Kwame, Ruffin, Haywood.

We have the youngest, most talented, deepest team.

Let it ride. Well get our respect the old fashion way.
They have already forgotten what we looked like with Gil, Hughes and Jamison. Now we have Blake, Etan and Kwame to go with it.
Were just going to be better. They will see.

Maybe it's just me, but I like seeing our team fly under the Radar. That way when they do something big everyone has this big look of shock and we can sit their with our smirks as if to say, told you the Wizards are good now.
