The bench, injuries, jamison and Gilbert carrying the Wizards without Hughes (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58718-2005Feb27.html)

Hands11, this article speaks for itself and a very fair assesment and some of the same points I was speaking of...

Time for Honest Assessment

No it isn't.

Good artical and very true. This team is getting slowly picked apart by injury and the impression that they've already done something.

Didn't see the game.... Kwame Brown's line looks pretty good, 10 pts./10 boards. How did he look out there? How was his defense?

Kwame looked real good vs. Sac. He's SO strong. I think it's just gonna take about 5 games for him to feel keyed into the scheme and for the other players to feed him the ball consistently.

The only problem I saw with Kwame is he was definitely winded out on the court. He doesn't have the stamina yet to play the type of minutes that Arenas or Jamison plays.

For instance, on a fast break Arenas made a great no-look pass to a streaking Kwame in the second quarter. But running full sprint down the court, stopping then running back on the break had Kwame so winded that he got no lift on the score attempt and got his shot blocked. He didn't even attempt to dunk it. Kwame last year would've piked it on both of the Kings under the court, but that Kwame was in a lot better shape then the one we see a year later.

I don't blame EJ for not playing Kwame as much yet. Let him run and get in shape in practice, why let a tired player hamper your team on the court? When he obviously doesn't have the necessary stamina to give his maximum effort. I think we'll see Kwame really becoming a force in within the next 4-5 games.

That's not a bad article. I didn't get to see the game on sunday, but Kwames line didn't look bad. They need to make a push or its all for not if they blow it.

Wow, I was just coming to the board to post how terrible that article was. This is a glimmer of truth in it but will I was reading it I was like, this person doesnt follow the Wiz closely. Hes just giving the outsiders view and trying to be dramatic.

Yeah, we beat some teams with stars out, but we have beaten teams with our stars out.

"If the Wizards are honest with themselves, this was a bad loss -- among their most disappointing of the season"

Not even close. We have had way worse losses then this.

"If they think their offensive wealth and the return of Hughes and Juan Dixon from injury next month is going to carry them into the playoffs, the Wizards are deluding themselves. "

Yeah, well lets beat on that. I beat when Larry gets on the floor again, they are going to rock. 7-0 before he got hurt. Gil is better then when he left. Those 2 are going to rock and Jamison will then be able to play his game again. Add an improved Haywood, Etan and now Kwame. Plus Blake is back. Please.....

"Seven games over .500 is no time to regret acquiring a missing piece last week at the trading deadline. Yet when many of your Eastern Conference pursuers bettered their teams, and you've just lost five of your last six, a question about the season's final two months is in order for these Wizards: "

Again, more crap. EG did the right thing by not moving anyone. We are going to be fine. Hayes being hurt isnt going to matter much when Hughes get back since he can play the 2 or 3. Blake can play the 1 with Gil and Hughes. Im most worried about Jefferies getting back, but I dont think he will be out long and add Etan and Kwame makes that matter less. Well be fine. Well be more then fine. We are going to be awesome.

I could go on and on with the article but my post would be a mile long.

Lets visit this again in 5 games and see who is right. Im not worried.

I agree. He isnt there yet. That way EJ waited till the 3 min mark to put him in for the run. I guess that about how much of a burst he has. 5 games is a good mark. Look how Etan came around. He seems at full strenght now.
