Nationals caps and uniforms

Why are the Nationals sporting the old Washington Senators script W on their caps but not using the same script for their uniforms?

It seems to make for an odd combination. Normally, the caps match the uniforms but in this case it doesn't.

That cap seems so out of place with the giant bold all capital letters that the Nationals us on both the home and away uniforms.

I swear the names on the front are so big that they get lost on either end of the chest so they look like they say ATIONAL and ASHINGTO.

They remind be of the font in front of a "Fuddruckers," but perhaps that's cause I'm hungry. ;)

However, I think that changing the RED in their uni's to more of a Burgandy (that color and DC GO togather) would look awesome.

Teams don't wear burgandy anymore since the Phillies switched to more of a red.

Personally, I like the spring training/practice caps that they've been sporting....interlocked DC, blue cap, red bill...nice.

I like that logo too, maybe they will have an alternate jersey with that logo on it? :whoknows:

In the mail today i recieved my DC batting practive jersey....its sweet, cant wait for the hats to come in stock i have one on order as well!!

I think the uni's are nice, but how many teams have red and white? Way too many.

Red Sox, Reds, Cards, Rangers(blue also), Braves? At least the Phillies have the very original red pinstripes. Regardless, they are cool. I'm happy for all you Skins fans, unless they beat my Phillies.

Gotta love the DC hats. I think they were a big seller and that could mean a change in the future.

On another note, the "W's" are not the same as the old Senator's hats. Very small subtle difference, but it's there for what it's worth.

The one thing I hate the most about the uni's is the script on the jersey's. Very, very ugly.

They should rock the "DC" on the hats and put it on the chest of the jersey, that would look nice....

but at the very least im glad we have a team here so that we can complain about thier uni's.

The rumor was that MLB pushed for the script "W" hats. The guy that designed these unis supposedly faced some pressure to include these "W" hats in the final design (appeasing guys like Selig who wanted a historical connection and look). I expect that the "DC" hats were the originally designed hats for these unis. They are a much better fit with the script on the jerseys, etc.

That being said, a lot of teams in baseball have hats that don't match the script on the rest of the uniform (eg. Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Mets, Yankees, etc.).

But like many others, I'm not a big fan of the cursive "W" hats. I can't look at those things and not think of Walgreens. :laugh:

The "DC" hats are great, and I hope when we finally get an owner we make a switch to these full-time. The BP jerseys are great as well.
