Comcast Sportsnet SUCKS!!! Everytime they show a replay, they do it while the game is going on and we miss a quick steal or a quick shot or something. YOU SUCK! :)

There is osmething seriously wrong with Jamison :(

hands11
March-14th-2005, 07:35 PM
alright dude, Im here.

Thats all I want to see Kwame do. Get open under the hoop and wait for the ball. I dont want to see this post up crap.

Haywood is our best post player. Let his post up and dish it off.
Im noticing he is looking to do this more lately. Kwame should rebound, play defence, and get his points on offensive rebound and feeds under the hoop. This way he wont shot at the wrong time and disrupt the momentum.

hands11
March-14th-2005, 07:38 PM
what in the hell do we have to do to get the obvious foul called for us. Ive seen at least 2 obvious ones not called already.

That one last night made me sick. I just dont get it.
Ruffin isnt even in. He is the one they usually screw.

Whats going on ?

Gil tip in.

Momentum swinging our way.

So they trap and leave Oden wide open as Etan cant catch him on the switch. With Jamison not in we have quicker feet. We should be able to man up.

Kwames new name is velcro.

He passes nicely sometimes but once the ball is in his hands more then 2 secs, he holds it for 6.

I dont want him posting one on one. Grab it and pass it.
Get garbage pts, let Haywood post up.

I actually think we are going to be ok without Jamison.
The problem was Jamison went down while Hayes went out and Jefferies was hurt and Thomas had the flu and Kwame was just coming back.

Now they we have those guys healthy, and Hughes back, I think we can get on a roll with these guys. We actually should be able to play better D without Jamison limbing around. To bad Hayes is out, that would add some depth.

Looks like Dixon isnt better yet. That will help when we get him back. Well be ok. We just had a bad set of things happen.

Let me say it again.

This is all I want to see Kwame do.
Rebound, Play D, and let people feed him under the basket.

Hes a decent FT shooter, so we get the foul and the pts and we keep the momentum going.

Kwame get some aplause. Good for him.

Ill tell you. He doesnt need to try to score.

He will be a star in Washington is he can average 10 board, 6 pts and a block. He doesnt need to score. Just take the garage shots here and there. Take the feeds from Hughes and Haywood.

Did you hear those LA fans while he was shooting FTs.

NO IN MY HOUSE.

Well, EJ is my Mr better late then never coach.

Now this is a line up.

Gil, Hughes, Jefferies, Kwame, and Haywood.

What was he doing with

Blake, Gil, Hughes, Etan, Ruffin with 7 minutes left.

He is an idiot sometimes.

If they are going to come back they are going to have to hit some 3's. Man up, and follow you player to the 3 line.

Let them score inside he they can. We have Brendan, Kwame and Jefferies in there.

Now thats the line I want to see from Kwame.

He would have been even more efficient if he would have forced a couple of shots in the post.

25 min - 11 rbs, 1 assist, 3 steals, 4-9 from the line, 9 pts.
That means he was fouled 5 times while shooting.
He was 2-5 from the field which could have been 2-3 if he didnt force those shots. His line was good, but if he was 2-3 instead, his line would have been perfect.

This is not only what we need from him, this is how he will make a name for himself. 25 min, 11 boards. If he can do that every night, you will start to hear people saying how valuable he is.
No one will care if he isnt scoring 20 pts.

Haywood has proven himself to be an inside scoring threat. We dont need Kwame to do it. I trust the ball in Brendans hands in the post more then Kwame. Kwame can get his pts from dish offs, an open shot from the key, and by getting fouled and making his FTs

hands11
March-14th-2005, 09:36 PM
Oh, and did you see Ruffin play the 3 line on that last steal.

Thats what you do. If you know they are going to have to come back and shot threes, cover the passing lane and the play to the 3 line. Leave the middle for Haywood, Etan and Jefferies.

Its cool. I think I did the same thing last year slamming EJ for his rotation and everyone would get all over he. Its kind of fun to see other taking that roll this year. I just chime in every once in a while. I got tired of bitching about it. Hes getting better a little at a time. Last year he totally sucked. This year its a lot better but he still isnt doing what I would expect from a head coach.

I want to see a coach get it right 95% of the time. Hes only at about 65-70%

Damn, we needed that win. Great game from our "Bigs" tonight. Haywood was a beast and great bench support from Kwame and Etan. They all looked strong. Looks like Ruffin is getting phased out some the last couple of games. Poor Jamison, he is a warrior but he is not helping the team limping around out there. Got nothing but love for him though. Our defense played better but still letting up too many open 3's. Good free throw shooting tonight too, would of been the difference for us last night...oh well. I'm enjoying the season sweep of the Lakers!

You know whats funny, i think the team as a whole plays better defense without Jamison in the lineup. Anybody else notice after he left we started to buckle down on D in the second half ? I dont think Jamison should be a starter whne he comes back, we should start Jeffries or Hayes(when he comes back) and put in Jamison when we need some quick scores..(delegate him back to his 6th man role). I know you guys are gonna get on my back for saying that, but i think that move will help out team out tremendously. Input is welcome.

BTW i hope we seriously start working on our FT attempts..for now i have more confidence in Brendan Haywood for making FT's than i do in Hughes or Arenas. I dont know why, but everytime Brendan is at the line i feel confident. I hope EJ takes some serious time to let this team practice FT's for like a full day, if we made like 5-6 more free throws each game, i think we could win most of our close games (i.e. Celts game).

I just did a whole tread on this. I have actually been talking about this for a while and yes, you are going to get people jumping all over you, I did.

I think he will start when he returns though. I dont think EJ has the balls to pull a move like that but Im not sold he will be our starter for the next 3 years. It will depend on how things go but he could get pushed out of the starting line up next year.

You've got to be kidding me? Jamison has earned a starting spot here, he averages 20/8 and is an all-star. We are a better team with a healthy Antwan Jamison starting.

Thats to funny Bugs.

Hey, go read my thread on this. Its called something like

Blessing in disguise.

I do think EJ being out is actually good timing. We are far enough away from the playoffs for him to get healthy and we just got Kwame back, Jefferies has room to grow, Haywood is becoming an offensive force and Etan can do more then he has if there is space for him to apply himself.

We may end up being the most fouled team in the league. With Gil and Hughes driving. Haywood, Etan, Kwame and Jefferies in the paint. We get fouled all the time. Now thats the best defense I think we can play. Put the starts on the bench.

I think our bigs can fill the whole and we are better off defensively for it. SAC may have had it right by playing him off the bench. Dude just cant play D, and that I think has a lot to do with why we dont man up. With him and Haywood on the floor together, you have 2 players with slow feet. Kwame will get better but he is rusty, so is Etan. Ruffin has quick feet but no offense. We just dont have the right player developed to cover for AJ and play man D. Now the other bigs have a chance to develop thier games and step it up. By the time AJ returns we will be better off for his absence and if we are lucky, everyone steps up so much that we are a better team with Haywood, Kwame and Jefferies starting. We definatly will be better defensively. Now if they can produce the needed offense between them, why wouldnt we be better with him not starting ? But yes, he has earned the right to start this year. I would exspect him to return to a starting role but next year and the year after, Im not so sure.

Im not debating the fact that hes not an All-Star or has not earned his position, i am just stating that with him out of the lineup, our Defense tightened up. If you like, let him start, just take him out periodically and let Jeffries or Hayes come in and let the defensive stand begin, i dont think Jamison should get 40+ minutes a game. There are two options which i think will help this team:

1.) Sit Jamison, start Jeffries or Hayes and bring in Jamison to get some quick scores for us and get our offense running. (sixth man role). P.S im sure if EJ went to Jamison and tells him that hes gonna try to put Jamison back into his 6th man role to help the team, im sure Jamison will do it for the team.

2.) Start Jamison, and take him out periodically and let Jeffries and Hayes come in to play D, i think Jamison should only play 25-30 mins a game and let Jeffries/Hayes/someone else split the rest of the time.

And even with the decreased time, i think Jamison will get 15-20 points and 5-6 rebounds, with the increase in Brown and Haywoods rebounding game, Jamsion does not need to grab too many rebounds (well on the offensive boards maybe). I just think we should try it once Jamison gets healthy and see if it works for us, i just have this gut feeling that this move will make this team more dynamic, the opposing team doesnt know whose gonna score and when, we can have Peeler/Jamison/Dixon/blake come off the bench and provide a quick spark. Just my thoughts
