Will we look like last game ? or the game before ?

I hope we play a better all around game.

Ruffin better get back in the roation.

And we better share the ball on offense more again.

We went from 29 assists .536% shooting

AJ, Etan, Kwame, Jeffereies = 72 pts

to 16 assists .414%

AJ, Etan, Kwame, Jeffereies, Haywood = 43 pts

This is only really his second year.

If he will drive more, add some weight and work on his outside shot. He could be very good in 2 years.

Good idea. Pull Hughes and put Dixon in.

Give Gil the ball to drives, shot or dish.

Get Etan and Kwame under the hoop.
Or Ruffin can be in.

Pull Hughes.

Gil is 11-13 and hughes has freakn taken more shots. 6-16.

I had when he doesnt this. He has not control over this part of his game. He forces things to much sometimes because he is tring to do to much and no reading the game and reling on him team.

Stick to PG Hughes.

This is why I say we need a PG. Cuz when Hughes do this, who do we turn to that we feel comfortable with playing PG to feed Gil.

getting inside is such and after though.

How can you blame the bigs when they arent getting any easy feeds.

since every want to shot first and pass second, all the inside passes are late or just one on one post feeds which only haywood has a good post move.

we arent as good a team playing this way.

they just feed haywood for 2 FT.
do it again.

they just dont ride the inside even when it shows some production.

I think he wanting to stuff it up for the run but Im not sure what that going to look like if Gil is doing it also.

That was a nastly thing he did at the end, with the knee dribble under the leg bouce pass for a haywood dumk.

It was after the whislte but that was a loose talented move.

I think hes going to start dunking more.

Arenas - 33
Larry - 31
Jamison - 21

Wow...what a trifecta.

I like having the ESPN analysis.

You get to hear a balanced critical view.

This team will get better with national exposure.

Like I said, let Lebron score his 20...err 40, but stop everyone else. We did just that. Bron played like a man on a mission, but as a team WE could not be stopped.

And plus looks like our hometown boy AI has helped us out by beating the Pacers. We're just one game behind the Bulls, and right now we're all by ourselves at #5.

I doubt it. Chicago was giving Orlando a good beating last I checked. They were up like 40 points with about five minutes left in the fourth.

Of course, Orlando is playing with the heart of a champion. Down by 40 in the 4th.

Honestly I would rather see the Wizards drop back to 6th place. It doesn't matter if they play Boston or Chicago in the 1st round to me because I think they'll beat either of them in the playoffs. My concern is if they get 4 or 5 they play Miami in the 2nd round. I would rather have them play Detroit since they have no answer to Shaq IMHO.

Well, with 3 games to go. I dont care anymore.

Well end up where we end up.

Then if its Miami or Detriot for round 2, Bring it own. I dont care which we face. Let just fight them hard and take it.

Either ones going to be a tough fought series. It should be fun.

Win or loss. We will grow from the experience.

so we have the Chicago tied breaker. Thats good.

Sun 17 Charlotte

Tue 19 @ New Jersey

Wed 20 @ New York

One more game this weekend we should take.

Then a back to back against NJ who may still be fighting or they will just have had thier back broken. Either a tough game or a walk over if he can get a lead.

6er

Sunday, Apr. 17, 6:00pm
at Nets

If the sixers win this game NJ should be down since they are already down by 2 game to them.

The sixer winning tonight was huge. Pushed Indi back and got a good win to stay 2 games over NJ so the Sunday game is huge.

Lets keep playing team ball.

Finished with

16 assists for the game. what happen. They were passing up and took a nice lead. Then they started the one on one play. Why dont they stick with what getting them a 7 pt lead.

They lost the next 2 quarters after they stopped passing.

Arenas, Hughes, Jamison, Dixon, Thomas, Haywood, and to some extent Jeffries all thing shoot first when they get the ball. They are all scorers, we don't have a true point guard on this team except for Blake, and even that that's questionable. All of this leads to low assist totals when we don't run the offense.

Anyone know where I can get a clip of Gil's dunk on "Tractor" Taylor, it didn't count but it was just about right after Eddie got ejected and Arenas looked pissed.

I wish Jefferies would think score first more but yeah, we have a ton of playes who dont think pass first.

That was the biggest different in that Mil game. Gil was thinking pass first, he can always score if he needs to. Thinking pas first let him get player the ball with good timing instead of getting them the ball late.

Hughes drives me nuts because if they are supposed to be sharing the PG possition then he has to back off when Gil is on fire. Gil was shooting a much higher % then Hughes was but Hughes kept firing it up. So if Gil is shooting ( and shooting quick ) and Hughes is doing the game, then AJ gets the ball and does the same. Who is getting the ball into the post and involving the bigs.

answer. No one.

Plus Hughes is the best guard defender. He could use this time as an opp to focus on lock down man D, rebounds and assists but instead he gambles on steals and gets out of possition to often. We need to play the odds more or its going to come back to bit us. If hes playing 70-30 steals vs possition D, he need to get it to about 50-50 or 40-60. Oh course, unless we are down and need to take the risk more.

Hughes and Gil have to get in sync with who is going to be the scorer and who is going to be the PG for any given game or quarter as one of them gets on a roll. If they dont make the adjustment, we need someone off the bench to come in and play PG. I dont think Blake is up to if right now. Maybe Peeler can do it. Dixon is ok doing this. Thats what we did last night. To bad Gil and Hughes havent worked this out because they are the most talented players who can play PG. EJ needs to talk to them about this.

We are better when we play balanced ball with an inside outside game. I dont mind the outside shots but we look much better when someone drives and dishes it out then when we just go one on one.

It was insane on series, Gil had the ball at the top of the key, no one even moved for the whole 24 sec. He got no penitration at all, then fired a 3 from 3 ft behind the line. Now it went in, but you dont want to run that as an offense. We would be much better off with a Haywood, etc dunk from a drive and dish.

This is our biggest challange as a team. We become 1, 2, or 3 on 5. If we are making the shot, we are ok, but then when we need an inside game, its not there because we have no continuity because we havent done it the whole game.

HUGE win. To beat the Cavs who NEEDED this game...this was big for motivation into the playoffs.

Kwame sucks. I seriously think at this point we should cut him just to hurt his feelings. He is an absolute BUM. He doesnt even try anymore, he just uses his body to foul, thats it.

The lack of a bigman is really going to hurt us in the playoffs though. We're going to need strong games from Haywood/Etan night in night out.

Although when Juan is on, its really difficult to stop the big 3 AND a hot shooter off the bench.

I agree. Cut Kwame. Hurt his feelings. Make him cry. Then maybe he'll realize he needs to hustle. I doubt it. What a bust.

Im not done with him yet. I want to see what this playoff run and exposure does for him.

We just had 2 nationally televised games.

He had a great game against MIL but Gil played PG that game.
The bigs played well overall.

The last to games, he played 6 min with 3 boards. No PG play. We played our starting 5 most the game because it was a lock down, get into the playoffs game. EJ tighened up the ship. Ruffin didnt even play.

Last game, again, no PG play, Kwame got 14 min and got called for some quesionable fouls. Thats not his fault. He has that great block but they called a foul on him that was bull. He was 1-2 with 2 offensive boards. He should have rebounded better but Etan also got 14 Min and only shot 3 times. There was no interior passing.

Ill going to pull for him. We need him. He should have enough games under his belt this year and over all by now. The pressure is not coming from a coach or the fans now, but national exposure. He has to be looking in the mirror now and realizing this reality. Lets see if the kid realizes this and grows up. He deserves a chance giving these new conditions. Ill be looking for some new Kwame heart to show. The energy of the playoffs is a powerful force to be exposed to and he hasnt been exposed to it before. Its one thing to talk about it, its another to see it coming and totally different to exspirence it.

I'm glad Juan found his touch :D

Is it just me or when we do try to give it in to the bigs, Hughes and Arenas seem like they are forcing dumb passes with lobs that almost always result in turnovers?

I think its when they are FORCING it.

Its when they are thinking shot first and the interior pass is a last second thought, they do poorly.

When Gil was thinking pass first the whole way up the court, before he started a drive, etc, he made great passes. Hughes hardly ever does this. Hes almost always looking to take coast the coast or to shoot first.

Yeah, sure, if the interior pass is made as a last second thought, they are going to be a lot worse.

Hughes still shows signs of his old ball hogging days.

Hey now atleast he can score.

Great game!!!

I'm pretty optimistic heading into pthe playoffs.

Though, we may not even win a series, our stars will not go into the games wide-eyed. Hughes, Arenas, and Jamison all have what it takes for the big games.

Dixon is a nice addition because he's played in huge games in college....he's never scared to pull the trigger.

This is not a team that will get down on itself if they lose a couple in a row. I like our chances in a seven game series in the opening round against any possible foe.
