They have a 2 game lead on us with NY at home and Indi on the road.
They have 2 games left.
We have 3.
We have to win out and they have to loose 1.
It always come down to this. If.....
If we only won one of those games we should have.
Gotten better calls. Better subs.
It hard to get up for every game in a 82 game season but in the end, it usually makes a difference, unless your the run away team leading your conference or division.

I'm with ya on this. I had a weird feeling when we beat the Cavs to move "up." I think Chicago is not the team they were even a few weeks ago, though, so it doesn't carry as much threat to me as it did when we were 4 and the Bulls were 5, actually. Homecourt would be nice but this matchup is not the beast it could have been. (I think.)

I think Indiana will beat Chicago, we just have to win out.

Homecourt or not, we will beat the injury depleted Bulls.
I would rather face the Bulls at this point then Boston. And there is no way I would have said this only a few weeks ago. The fact is, Chicago is a completely different team without Curry.

What sucks is that now that the Cavs have lost just now to the Pistons, the Nets are just 1 win away from tieing(and they have the tiebreaker)the Cavs for that 8th spot, and guess what? We gotta go INTO New Jersey(a place where we haven't done too well lately although we did win there earlier this year)and play them.

I would be happy with the 5th seed, we dominated the bulls the other night and they do not scare me, especially with all the injuries

Our guys have had a hard time getting up for teams that have struggled like the Knicks and NJ has a ton to play for and our game against them is their biggest of the season. I don't think we win both.

I agree, but getting home court will be big. Chicago has no inside presence offensively without Curry, so they're gonna need Hinrich and Gordon to carry them. Unfortunately for the Bulls, our guards are better, and we have better big men now that Curry is out. Chicago will play tough on their home court, which is why I don't want to take any chances and get that 4th seed. That Indiana game will be tough for Chicago, hopefully Indiana will pull out the win. But before we can start to worry about Chicago losing, we have to take care of business Tues and Wed night.

The problem the Wizards have is that they have to keep winning in order to stay within reach of Chicago. But what that does is gives Indiana more incentive to just play out the string, which includes a game against the Bulls. If the Wizards keep winning then the Pacers can't catch them.
The Wizards best bet is for the Knicks to beat the Bulls because the Pacers probably won't have anything to play for in the final game against the Bulls.

After listening to that Wiz-Cats game yesterday, I'd feel alot better with homecourt advantage in the opening round. Our poor defense doesn't really give us any "advantage" over anyone EXCEPT a home crowd.

Well, Indiana holds the tiebreaker against Boston, so if Boston loses at Cleveland and vs NJ, and Indiana wins their 2 games, Indiana would get home court, despite being the 6th seed.

Injuries are the biggest difference maker in this age of parity in the NBA.
The Wizards played only half their games with their three best players on the court at the same time.
Still, the team won the games it was supposed to win and even won some games along the way we didn't expect to see them win.
45 or 46 wins is nothing to sneeze at on a team that has struggled to win more than 30 many times since the glory days of the late 1970's.
The first step for a team on the rise is to win the games it is supposed to win.
People lose sight of that.
This team needs to resign Larry Hughes and then find a power forward that can be the physical enforcer that Brown and Haywood will never be.
Haywood can be a serviceable center but needs the presence of a true power forward to be at his best on the court.

If we win our last 2 games and Indy wins the last, then we get the 4th seed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is half-true. Whoever has the better record always gets homecourt. If it is the same record, only then do you consider the head-to-head.
Indiana would get homecourt at the 6th seed, but it has nothing to do with the tiebreaker against Boston.
