STAR WARS....What Order ?

I am Not a Big STAR WARS follower....but my kid's are getting interested. I was wondering in What Order should we watch these Movies ?

I would wathc in the order released....

1-6 according to Mr. Lucas himself, ( I have the dvd's and behind the scenes and that's....hell....... :geek: )


Also let's the kids make up their own mind what's bad or good. :)

I'd say one through six as far as story continunity. But I'd hate to advise you torward that awful first impression.

So as far as movie quality watch 3-6 and go back and see 1 and 2 later.

if they watch i, ii, and iii first, they might have a hard time watching iv, v, and vi because to young kids, it might seem outdated. if they're old enough to truly appreciate the story, i'd say 1-6.

4-6 first, then 1-3. Vader's revelation in Episode 5 is so powerful when you don't see it coming.

My girls started to take an interest with all the hype. We watched 4 this past weekend and will watch 5,6,1,2

It will be a few years before they see 3.


I'm with Henry. The revelation of Darth would be a let down if they saw the new ones first. Plus, I'm getting to build their excitement for what's coming next. The can't wait for the weekend to see 5.

Order released, I agree. Lucas may say watch 1-6 now...but there's a reason why he released them the way he did.

iv- a new hop
v- empire strikes back
vi- return of the jedi
then
i- phantom menace
ii- attack of the clones
iii-revenge of the sith

I'm gonna be pissed when they release all 6 in a box set....after splurging for the box set with the 4-6 that came out last fall...

but the box set will be chock full of 800+ hours of bonus material that i'm sure you'll watch multiple times :rolleyes:

episode iv is Star Wars: A New Hope.

it was the first film released in 1977.
