Holy ****... that was pretty intense. Really makes you appreciate what you have a lot more than before.

That was very clever use of film- not all were 'all time greats', someone put thought into that-pretty neat.
Although the film was thought provoking and well crafted, I will never allow anyone to minimize the significance of mankind on Earth for me. Once I allow anyone to convince me I am a speck in the vast realm of things is the minute I allow them to tell me there is no God.
You see, I believe I was made in the image of my creator and as vast as this universe is, He is more. By minimizing my existence, God's greatness is being minimized as well.

Whatever, that video was obviously shot in a studio somewhere in Florida. There's no way that was a picture of earth.

Truth be told, it didn't effect me one iota. The film images didn't really match the monologue half of the time, and I already knew that everything looks like a tiny dot if viewed from a far enough distance lol...
If I were in my home, surrounded by my family and loved ones, my heart and soul would be overflowing with contentment, happiness and love...I'd understand the true significance of being human at that point.
If I were to hop on a plane, and view my home from 35,000 feet in the air...would seeing it as a mere dot make me appreciate what I have within it more, or appreciate it less, or appreciate it differently? No. the visual experience may very well be the least accurate and important of all the ways we experience reality. I shouldn't let what I see, change what I know and experience within me to be real.
What truly did effect me, though, was the idea that all of that space, and the infinite space that we didn't see in that photo...if even a minuscule aspect of it were changed, we all may very well not exist. To think that the one "pixel" that is our Earth might be 1,000% different if any aspect of the vastness that surrounds it were changed even slightly...that, to me, was a profound concept to imagine.
