Mark Brunell reportedly expects to be the Redskins' third-string QB this year.

People close to Brunell tell me the veteran believes he will be the No. 3 QB this season, but the passers are still waiting to get word from Gibbs. Imagine he'll go ahead and tell them in the next few days, with Sunday fast approaching and all.
The Jason Taylor vs. Chris Samuels battle will be huge. Taylor got the best of him 4 years ago in Miami - albeit in Spurrier's sack-friendly system - and Chris himself knows he's going to been a few weeks to be four-quarters strong and fully conditioned after such a long layoff with the knee sprain. The second half should be interesting for the O Line, especially if it's a muggy day.
I have a feeling if Marcus Washington does play we won't be seeing him with his hand down on third-down just yet. That dislocated elbow is no joke. Rookie Chris Wilson could end up getting the rush end duties in the nickel package and the onus will be on Rocky McIntosh and London Fletcher to take care of business in coverage in that package.

If JC (GOD FORBID) went down with an injury, I think it wouldn't take long for Brunell to get the starting nod.
We all know how tenuous Ramsey's #1 slot was in 05.

I agree, it's probably another situation to where, if Campbell goes down Todd Collins will get the go, if they have a full week to prepare, Brunell will get the start. :)

Hopefully JC stays Healthy the entire year....our season really depends on our QB play.

Joe Gibbs isn't going to do that this year. If Collins is the backup, he'll have him finish the game and prepare him for the next week (full or not). If he looks bad on that week (INT's etc.), he MAY go with Brunell for the following week and stick with him until Jason comes back. If Brunell is #3, it'll be the second time since his rookie year with Green Bay.

Knocking on wood while I say this.....if the need should arise to use another QB, Collins would not be the number one the following week. Gibbs would go back to his security blanket Brunell.
Really the #2 vs. #3 is a wash. Both of those guys inspire little confidence in me, though I suspect Tom Collins has an edge with his garnish of orange and maraschino cherry, as well as the ability to throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.

I said in another thread that TC deserves to be #2 because of his preseason showing, but it wouldn't surprise me if MB ends up #2.

JLC of the post said gibbs has said it will be collins as the #2
