Is London Fletcher the best MLB in redskins franchise history?
I was just wondering, i didnt get to see redskins play in the 80's. How does fletcher compare to those? i have yet to see a better MLB then fletcher my time watching the redskins. I know hes been here for 14 games, but hes been the most productive MLB in the nfl. No one has more tackles then fletcher in the last 6 years. Not to mention his leadership that helped lead a top defense in 3 different teams rams, bills and now the redskins. He also appeared in 2 superbowls and won one.
Thoughts?

Hanburger played for too long, and went to too many pro bowls not to be considered the best.

I think he probably as good as any I have ever seen. It helps that he knows the defense so well.

I still think Washington is/was a hellova LB - he ever do a stint at MLB?
Re: Is London Fletcher the best MLB in redskins franchise history?
wilbur marshall and harvey were nice but not middle LB's I'd give the nod to Fletcher
Re: Is London Fletcher the best MLB in redskins franchise history?
He hasnt played a full season and you guys give him the ALL-TIME MLB Honor for the Redskins?

Wilbur Marshall destroyed opponents. I'd give him the nod. If I recall his exit from the Skins to another team was not pleasant. But, heck I think I was in jr. high then also.

The question was about middle linebackers, correct? Well, in the defense that won the Super Bowls, Neal Olkewicz and Matt Millen weren't too bad. Before them, I would say it was Harold McLinton. However, London ranks right up there, so far. We also had a pro bowl middle linebacker that we got from the Colts at the end of his career. His name escapes me.

Yeah, it's a bit much if you ask me. Especially when guys like Sam Huff are in the HOF.

I would say Chris Hanburger #55 was the best. My opinion, but he was an awesome player.
Interesting discussion on Hamburger vs Huff
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redsk...hanburger.html
Chris Hanburger was a hard-nosed, tough and contributing player for the Redskins and led the defense. Sam Huff was on another level in my view. Huff, along with Jurgensen one of the team's long-time broadcasters, brought a grit and attitude to the Redskins' defense after arriving from the Giants. He helped form the Redskins defense into an improving unit.
There is a real simple choice here. Nine time pro bowler (most of ANY Redskin). I guy who retired before he would let them trade him from being a SKIN. OR a former Giant that went into the Hall as such and only has a name with Skins fans because he got a job on their radio. His career was on the decline with the Skins. Hanburger is a true Washington Redskin!

Everyone forget about Monte Coleman? He was a quiet leader for a good time
