i think waiting until we actually have a league page set up to start free agency and waiver wire acquisitions is the way to go.
Chuong was last on ES on Saturday at approximately 7:15am.Quote:

I do stalk you guys...be afraid. Be very afraid.

phoward, you can go ahead and transfer over randy moss, plax, and jon beason to the trickstas. :D and i guess romo too, he can be my backup.
Give him some time, these last two rounds went by pretty fast, he probably doesn't realize it's back to him yet.
Regarding free agency and waivers...Yahoo does have waiver priority, it's based off of draft order. Whoever drafted last would have first priority on waivers, whoever got AP would be #12. Once you take a player off waivers, your priority gets set back to 12 and everyone else moves up a slot. Yahoo will take care of that automatically, but since we did an offline draft, I'll have to set the initial priority manually. Free Agents have no effect on this, they're first come first serve.
I would prefer that we wait until the page can be set up myself, I don't know if I could handle all the PM's otherwise. My PM box is almost full as it is, I don't know if I can handle another onslaught from you ass-clowns.
One thing to consider though, is the storing of players. It's 30 spots, BTW, not 32 spots. I can understand wanting to hoard during the offseason, and there has to be a way to take care of that. Perhaps if everyone sends me a list of the free agents they want, I can use priority to assign players when there's a conflicting request. Something we'll look into.
I see this has turned into Extreme Pirate. Steal everything not nailed down. For Chuong's sake, I'm going to go ahead and deny this move. If he take another couple of days though, we may have to take action.:DQuote:

haha, that was a lil TOO much information. but the hillarity was appreciated....this hasn't been the greatest monday to say the least. i think the highlight of my day so far was selecting Marcus Trufant.....since then, it's pretty much all been downhill.Quote:

not too clear on what waiver wire is. is that when mult teams try to pick up the same FA and thats to see who egts the same player.....cuz yahoo has an order that you can customize to see who would get that player......
Yes, that's what the waiver wire is...and I believe we're all set for the in-season pickups. Like you alluded to, there will be an established order and the first team in line that lays claims him will get him.Quote:

ok, well to get out of the ES pirate mode....ill just take moss and romo then.Quote:

You are correct King, that's what it's for. Basically, if I was to drop a player that other teams wanted, I can't have 10 PM's waiting for me about him. I do not have a problem with people filling out their rosters to a maximum of however many we set before the league is set up, you can PM me your lists when the draft is over and I'll do the assignment process.
We can worry about this closer to the end of the draft. I believe the order of the day will need to be that while you can fill your rosters up, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DROP ANYONE until the league is set up. If people start dropping players, then we'll start getting into competing waiver priority, which I don't want to deal with yet.
Any questions or alternate ideas, please lay them out here.
"you can PM me your lists when the draft is over and I'll do the assignment process. "
but what's the "process"? If we do it in the league thread, one pick per post (not an entire wish list) then it can easily be first come first served and everybody will be able to see it real time.
pick a date and time after the drafts, convenient to everyone, and open up free agency.

If we said "free agency" starts at 12:01am on April 1st, and I send my list of 8 free agent pickups at 12:02am...that's really not fair to everyone else. It's probably better if I'm only allowed to pick one player at a time. Doing it in a league thread also gives a time stamp that everyone can see.
The only idea I could come up with, and I'm still not a big fan of it, but I'll toss it out there anyway in case it spurs another idea...or someone might refine this one...
We could have a free agency bidding period that is run similar to auction style drafts. Each team is given a $100 salary cap for the free agency period. I then nominate the player(s) I want to sign (in a thread) and say I will pay $7 for Alge Crumpler. Someone else comes along and says I'll pay $9 for Alge. Eventually, Alge goes to the highest bidder after 24 hours of bidding is up.
I'm not a huge fan of this idea...but it was the only thing I could think of where teams could legitimately bid on 7 or 8 different guys at once.
