What the ****, Hitman? :ols:
Quote:
Heptaflourine dodecauranium (abbreviated as F7U12), commonly called the rage molecule, is a naturally occurring chemical compound. Composed of seven flourine molecules and twelve uranium molecules, heptaflourine dodecauranium is extremely abundant throughout the known universe, more so than anything other than hydrogen and stupidity. Along with its ubiquity, heptaflourine dodecauranium is widely known for its unusual instability and radioactivity; the compound is highly sensitive to outside stimuli and even the slightest contact or chemical reaction can be enough to cause it to detonate in a thundering, fiery explosion.
In other news, Brandon Marshall "fell into his TV" again out of excitement upon hearing that Peyton Manning may sign with his team. His crazy-eyed wife, holding a bloody knife, declined to comment for this story. More at 7.
More at 7?
no, no, no...it's like this.....
"Details at 11"
No way. At 11 o'clock, everyone in Miami is out getting crunk. Its 7. ;)
lol, ok.
And Hitman, nice trade.
I honestly probably undersold Turner and Gonzo a bit...but i wanted to get into the 2nd round of the draft, and getting rid of two aging bench pieces for two young bench pieces that I can select through the draft and incorporate into my team fits well imo. Helps my team stay competetive and gives me a little youth since I seem to have traded all my rookie picks from last year away. lol
Also, it gives Hitman at least one years worth of solid bench depth. That's the only reason i was entertaining keeping Gonzo and Turner around really, but unlike Hitman i didn't have a pick in the draft until the 4th round. Needed to change that.

When is Riggo going to get on FF?
Hes on vacation right now. But he told me he'd get his team setup as soon as he could. I'd say he'll prob be on in the next few days or so.
Since we still have some time until the draft, I thought Id bring one last thing up that could really improve our league.
The PS claiming system is broken. No successful claim has ever been made. I think we're missing out on a dynamic of the game in roster management. I think these PS players should be more available for claiming as that will help balance the skill in the league, improving the worse teams in the league with performing players and giving appropriate compensation in the form of draft picks.
Im proposing we use something like I created for my other dynasty league on DLF. This would be a completely revamped system that includes a Farm Squad in addition to a Practice Squad, and Red Shirts (formerly our IR). The compensation system is based on the Dynasty Trade Value Chart that I have created because it allows for alot of flexibility in the ways teams can compensate other teams using their draft picks because teams agree on the value system. There are two more spots in the IR so that there are 10 players in addition to the 30 player active roster, instead of the 8 that we have. This is balanced by the fact they players should be more available.
I dont expect everyone to get on board with this but I think we should make an effort to change this defunct system. In my other league, we only have this compensation system up for one year. We did not have any successful claims but two trades were eventually done that were based on the claims and the value assigned by this system. A good example was a claim for greg little after week 3 or 4 when he was looking hot. The compensation for the Farm Squad claim would have been a future first and second or a future first and future future first. The owner didnt like the former deal but preferred the latter, so he activated greg little, negating the claim and then proposed the trade which was accepted. Im not saying its perfect but I think its definetely an improvement on what we got.
Below is an excerpt from my other league's bylaws that we could use:
The Practice Squad (PS) – up to 6 players on PS and FS combined
The practice squad is a transitional spot on the roster for any player of any year. Any player can be placed on the practice squad that is not already on the active roster (ie, FAs or players traded for). Players on active rosters must be cut and clear waivers before they can be added to the PS. All teams must designate their PS players by 11:59 PM on the Sunday before the first NFL game.
The Farm Squad (FS) – up to 6 players on PS and FS combined
The FS is a place for your underachieving draft picks to develop. Any player drafted by that team in the last 2 drafts is eligible for the FS of the team that drafted them (players that are traded, cut, or moved to any other part of your roster are no longer eligible for the FS). All teams must designate their FS players by 11:59 PM on the Sunday before the first NFL game.
The Red Shirts (RS) – up to 4 players
Any player, regardless of whether or not they are injured can be placed on your RS. Players that are placed on RS must remain on your RS until the end of the fantasy season. These players may not be cut, traded, or moved to any other part of your roster. All teams must designate their RS players by 11:59 PM on the Sunday before the first NFL game. You may put a player on RS at any time during the season, so long as you have an RS spot available.
Practice Squad Claims
PS claims can be made at any time during the regular season. No claims may be made during the off-season. The claiming team is responsible for emailing the owner and posting a claim in the appropriate thread in the DLF forum. The DLF forum timestamp will determine which claim was made first.
The owner must respond in the DLF forum within a week of the timestamp whether they will activate the player to the active roster by moving the player from the IR, OR they forfeit the player and receive compensation at the end of the season based on the player’s performance. If no response is made within one week, the claim will be processed. If the owner's response comes after the player's team plays a game, the claiming team has the option to w/d his claim within one week of the initial claim's timestamp. The deadline for claims is week 12.
Farm Squad Claims
FS claims can be made at any time during the regular season. No claims may be made during the off-season. The claiming team is responsible for emailing the owner and posting a claim in the appropriate thread in the DLF forum. The DLF forum timestamp will determine which claim was made first.
The owner must respond in the DLF forum within a week of the timestamp whether they will activate the player to the active roster by moving the player from the IR, OR they forfeit the player and receive immediate compensation based on the player’s draft pick value. If no response is made within one week, the claim will be processed. If the owner's response comes after the player's team plays a game, the claiming team has the option to w/d his claim within one week of the initial claim's timestamp. The deadline for claims is week 12.
6. Compensation for PS and FS claims
This may all seem very complicated upon first look, but its really quite simple once you get the hang of it. The commissioner and/or co-commissioner will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
a. Draft Pick Value Chart
All compensations on PS and FS claims will adhere to the following draft pick value chart. This chart is only mandatory to use for compensation of PS and FS claims and is optional for anything else.
Draft Pick Value Chart
Round 1 _____ Pick Value _____ Round 2 _____ Pick Value _____ Round 3 _____ Pick Value
1 _______________ 2500 ___________ 13 ___________ 344 ___________ 25 ___________ 110
2 _______________ 1650 ___________ 14 ___________ 320 ___________ 26 ___________ 102
3 _______________ 1175 ___________ 15 ___________ 300 ___________ 27 ____________ 94
4 ________________ 960 ___________ 16 ___________ 280 ___________ 28 ____________ 86
5 ________________ 810 ___________ 17 ___________ 260 ___________ 29 ____________ 78
6 ________________ 730 ___________ 18 ___________ 240 ___________ 30 ____________ 70
7 ________________ 655 ___________ 19 ___________ 220 ___________ 31 ____________ 62
8 ________________ 595 ___________ 20 ___________ 200 ___________ 32 ____________ 54
9 ________________ 535 ___________ 21 ___________ 180 ___________ 33 ____________ 47
10 _______________ 475 ___________ 22 ___________ 160 ___________ 34 ____________ 43
11 _______________ 420 ___________ 23 ___________ 140 ___________ 35 ____________ 39
12 _______________ 380 ___________ 24 ___________ 124 ___________ 36 ____________ 37
b. FS claims:
1- Draft pick value of player on FS is attained based on value of pick from year drafted.
2- Claiming team must trade at least that value (and up to 10% over if necessary) in future picks to the original owner.
3- All future picks are obtained by averaging the value of last years draft position with the projected draft position for the current year. (section 6d).
4- Compensational draft pick packages can be done using picks from the next two drafts at the owner's discretion. If the proper compensation package is not feasible, next available picks must be used and approved by the commissioner.
Example: If Colin were to place Joe McKnight on the FS, he would have a value of 300 points because he was drafted 15th overall. Any claiming team would have to offer me between 300-330 points in compensation which comes out to either a first rounder next year, or a second next year and first two years out, at the claiming teams discretion.
c. For PS claims:
1- Player is traded in one side trade if owner does not activate player.
2- At the end of the regular season (week 13), the player’s point-per-game is valued by position for the games claimed for and compensation points are determined. (Example: Lets say LeGarrette Blount was placed on someone’s practice squad. If he was claimed after week 6, his PPG for the final 10 games would be 130pt/10week, meaning 13 PPG for the weeks claimed. Comparing that number with the overall PPG of RB/WR/TE at the end of the year means he would rank about 35th. If he were claimed after week 1, the compensation would be much less because he contributed less per game for the claiming team.)
3- Claiming team must trade at least that value (and up to 10% over if necessary) in future picks to the original owner.
4- All future picks are obtained by averaging the value of last years draft position with the projected draft position for the current year. (section 6d).
5- Compensational draft pick packages can be done using picks from the two next drafts at the owner’s discretion. If no compensation package is feasible, next available picks must be used and approved by the commissioner.
Pick compensation will be according to 5 tiers of performance based on points per game (PPG) and 5 pick values according to the following table:
Player Production Value Chart – To be used for PS compensatory picks
Tier _____ RB/WR/TE _____ QB _____ IDP _____ Pick Value
1 ___________ 40 ___________ 5 _______ 3 _________ 192
2 ___________ 60 __________ 10 _______ 6 _________ 116
3 ___________ 80 __________ 20 _______ 9 __________ 65
4 __________ 100 __________ 30 _______ 20 _________ 39
5 ___________ All __________ All _______ All _________ 17 (no compensation)
Example: if a RB/WR/TE finishes in the top 60 (but not in the top 40) of all RB/WR/TEs based on PPG at the end of the regular season, the claiming team owes the original team 2nd tier compensation, which is 69 points. They can use their picks for that year’s draft as compensation or use the future draft pick value chart (section 6d) for future picks. Packages using the next two drafts are acceptable.
The compensation will be reduced by one tier if the player participates in less than 4 games.
d. Future Draft Pick Value Chart
Im revamping this but the concept is that every year in the future lowers the value of the pick by 40%.
*Future picks more than two drafts out may not be traded, unless no compensation in the next two drafts is available. In this case, it must be approved by the team receiving the compensation and the commissioner. Transactions involving picks more than 2 years out will only be considered for PS claims.
Gonna be honest, my brain shut off and I quit reading about half way through that book.
