Re: Bugs in my apartment!
"pillbugs" sounds like roaches to me. good luck, I hate those damn things.
Best way to get rid of the infestation is to move.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
I live in an apartment right near a river and wooded area. Every now and then I'll see a little critter, but nothing huge or scary. I spray the window areas and door with Ortho Home Defense Max (white bottle, red sprayer - can get at Walmart) and it's awesome. I spray once a week or so just to be on the safe side. I hate bugs.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
At least you don't have a annual invasion of carpenter ants. :(
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
Call your rental office and demand them to exterminate. You just moved in and they are usually quick to act with new tenants.
Then consider voting blriesenbeck07 for POTES.
I got your back. No more bugs for you, sir.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
If after another exterminator comes in to spray and I'm still having problems, I'm going to move out pronto. I hate the fact that I have to look at the floor when I'm walking around my place.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
Nuke the Apartment from Orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
There's nothing you can do if you're in an apartment building. When you fog, they'll just go to another apartment. When yours is clear they'll come back.
Unless you can make everyone in the building fog and then to live spotlessly you're pretty much stuck as far as I know.
You can be as clean as a whistle in your apartment, but have a neighbor who's a pig with roaches and you've got roaches too.

Yep. I got that about a month ago. Not as bad as last year, though.
Every now & then I'll see one ant. That poor sucker gets the spray...
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
If it is pillbugs, and not small roaches, pretty much as suggested - treat around windows and doors. However, to be honest, unless you have a ground level apartment with mulch around the outside or similar, I would be really surprised if it was pillbugs.
The problem with apartments is that, while yours may not have any damp areas, or build up of old paper (newspapers, boxes, books, etc), your neighbors could. As a result, unless your neighbors also have their apartments treated, there is not much you can do other than complain to the building manager, etc.
If you do not want to wait for another visit from the exterminator or such, you can try placing glue traps (the same kind used to catch mice) under the sinks, or in areas where you see them the most. Try and find glue boards that lay as flat as possible. if you were in a house, I would suggest ordering Niban off the internet (a granular pesticide vs. spray), which works well for silverfish, but in an apartment, it probably is not worth the price and effort. When the exterminator comes out next time, just tell him you want dust or niban used behind the socket plates, around the pipe chases, etc.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
In my apartment we have a ton of these little kinds of spiders, some species that rarely gets bigger than the pink part of your pinkie nail...can't really do much about it since spiders don't have a general nesting area like ants or anything, so we just kill them when we see them in a nuisance spot (like in my bathtub or on my bed), otherwise we just let them chill out in the corners of our place. I can easily walk through my house and probably find 10 or so at a time in different dark spots.
Re: Bugs in my apartment!
Use this stuff: It works really, really well. You can use both outside and inside safely, and kills virtually any indoor-dwelling insects or arachnids. I have some earwigs in my basement (those things give me the willies) and this spray got rid of them:

Also, look for entry holes, which you can caulk up and help to keep out the pests.
