Yeah the 90 minute episode preview looks like it will be worth it. I think the next 2 episodes will be pretty crazy.
They've going a little too slow with this season, I think.
I'm also getting pretty tired of Jax saying and doing things just to try and push Tara away. We get it, he doesn't want her to get too involved with this dangerous, seedy lifestyle, he's trying to protect her, blah, blah. But at what point does it go from being concern for her to just being childish? It's like the writers want to push this angle of her having to face being an "old lady" in the club and having to take all the crap Jax gives her as a burden, but they're also clearly trying to establish her as the heir-apparent to Gemma, who certainly throws her own weight around the club whenever she wants to.
I've been waiting for someone to take Jax aside and tell him to really get his **** together, but it hasn't happened yet.
I don't know, hopefully things will pick up and start coming together more once they get to Ireland, but so far this season has been really slow and kind of scattered.
(I also think it's weird how they've basically turned Unser into a doormat with a badge this season, especially after the lengths he went to for the club last season. Yeah, he has to do his job a little more strictly now, but that doesn't mean he has to turn into some sort of bumbling fool who's always two steps behind everyone else)
I still love this show, but I'm not feelin' the whole Belfast thing. I'm kinda thinking that Jax and his sister are gonna hook up though which will cause the whole truth about Jax's father's infidelities to emerge which will also uncover some information about the events surrounding his death. I want to see more of the tensions within SAMCRO again with Jax pushing for leadership etc. IMO that story is a lot more interesting.
I know, it's the whole haunted heir with his father's killer on the throne, that's why I think that storyline is so much more interesting than the whole "go get the kid" turn it's on right now, unless this is a move to push the larger story down the road. So help me though if Jax has a "to be or not to be" moment then I'm gonna throw my shoe at the tv.
With that said SOA has a lot of stuff to do before the end of the season.
Anyone see last nights show? That was just awesome, I can't wait for next week, heads are gonna roll!
Eh, I don't know, the slow build of this season and the outright defiance of the law at just about every turn possible, led by Jax in the search for his son, is a good counter to the end of the 1st season and last season. Jax was all about returning SAMCRO to its self-righteous "roots" like his father wanted, as opposed to the more straight up organized crime unit the club has turned into under Clay. But now that Jax needs every resource possible to get his son back, he's put that idealism aside and has gone all in to try and find Abel. It's an interesting reflection on idealism vs. reality for the club, from when Jax's father first started it to now.
But they're certainly taking a looooooonnngggg way around to wrap up this main storyline. Looks like it will be paying off at a much more rapid pace starting next week, with Tara in trouble back home.
I just really hope Jax doesn't hook up with his half-sister. I don't understand why Gemma keeps noticing what's going on there, and refuses to say anything. I'm assuming there's more under the surface that Gemma knows, that hasn't been revealed to us yet, but this is still shaky ground they're walking on. Your main character hooks up with his blood relative in a show like this, and that's certainly a game changer (for the worse, I'd imagine).
Anyone else think there's a good chance Jax won't end up with Abel in the end? I don't know why, I just have a feeling that this trip to Belfast isn't going to turn out so well.
Things are definitely starting to pick up. A lot of different storylines taking place, posing more questions than answers. It is getting harder and harder to wait the next week. Luckily I record them so I can watch them a few times during the week to make sure I didn't miss anything. I think as it gets closer to the end of the season, more questions will get answered. Since FX picked up the show for a 4th season, I imagine things will take a different turn at the end of this season.
Did anyone see last nights show? Best of the season so far, dude better not let them take his kid. I don't care who you are, but you take someones kid and tell them they are better off without them you better be ready to get some payback to you.
The stuff with Jax and his Sister...well...damn.
I'm actually more interested in what's happening in Charming now because its felt like Dublin is dragging out with the Priest.
Still a top show for me.
It's hard to believe there is only 3 more episodes left. Maybe the Charming stuff will get this Belfast stuff overwith and get everyone back to Charming.
for those of you watched last night. can you tell me what came on right after the show aired. I dvr the show and I put a 3 min extra time on the end of show to get the next weeks preview. well towards the end of the 3 min it started to go thru the previously on sons monologue and show clips that included clips of last nights show then proceded to go credits and theme song. this would of been around 11pm est. look forward to input. thanks
Just watched this week's episode, it was near perfect IMO, and it finally got me thinking that the whole SOA in Belfast was more than a scenery change. We all knew that Jax and his sis were gonna finally get together with Gemma in full knowledge the only question was whether Gemma was going to keep it secret or reveal the affair to Jax, I'm glad it worked out the way that it did. As for the betrayal angle that ended the only way it could, although O'Neill spilled his guts a bit faster and whineyer than I thought.
I do like how the story is back with Jax questioning the direction of the club once again, which sets up the conclusion of last couple episodes and sets the course for next season with Jax working for leadership of the club.
The priest gave up the information about Abel a bit quick though like he'd never seen someone's life threatened before, always thought he was a bit more resilient than that, unless the guy who Jax knifed was a relative or something to the priest.
