Re: The Official Washington Wizards Thread
Here is a dumb trade that may actually be helpful to both teams.
The Celtics have Jeff Green for 4 years. The Wizards have Nene for four years. Why not swap them? The C's have no bigs worth a damn and Green seems lost there. Green may be useful here and - who knows - maybe bringing him back to DC would be fun
Nothing can be done until the deadline but that's probably good for the Wizards since Nene is broken right now I can't quite figure out how to match the salaries since the trade machine won't let me deal Green now. But it might be able to work.
I'm utterly lost with how to even begin fixing this team though.

I want Josh Smith so bad. If we could somehow get him and like Kevin Martin, we'd at least be able to score and play a little D
Re: The Official Washington Wizards Thread
There a multitude of problems....if Ted is serious about making changes he's got to get rid of Grundle first. We're not going to get anywhere lamenting over decisions that have already been done so options have to be explored. I'm pretty sure when wall comes back we'll win our fair share of games to take us out of the top 5 in the lottery, and really, anything outside of the top 5 in this draft class doesn't seem that appealing or game changing.
Luckily we have some trade chips of value. Ariza actually looks average out there, and good on defense, if he continues with this he could be dealt at the trade deadline to clear some cap space. I'd like to move Nene, but I doubt we'll get any takers so we have to factor him in as part of the equation at this point. Booker has regressed this year, its painfully obvious, and in a league where bigmen of any kind get overpaid for marginal play I don't think its in our best interest to retain him if this is all the play we're getting from him, coupled with his injury issues. The guy has the athletic and strength abilites to be a top rebounder but I honestly think Javale and Young's incompetence rubbed off on him. I'd look to move ariza+booker+2nd rounder for the best Forward we can find, SF or PF, don't care who. I'd also consider asking Minn. if they would be interested in a Booker+JC+Top 5 protected 1st swap for Williams. Williams has been ok in spot minutes so far but he's going to be a non factor for them once Love comes back. We could also give them center depth with Okafor and take ridinour off their hands to get a real back up PG.
Lastly, Randy needs to make major roster adjustments with what we have. Seraphin is pressing a lot coming off the bench lately, mostly I assume because Okafor looks competent every now and then and he may be worried about losing playing time to him. Run the offense through seraphin, easy buckets, we've seen it. Bench Beal, he isn't ready for the starting role and he ain't gettin any love from the refs. Start singleton at the 4, he knocked down 3's last year at a good clip, why aren't we letting him do the same, his shots looked good from long 2pt territory, I find this part to be baffling.
Price/(SIGN ****ING SHAUN LIVINGSTON  )
Crawford/Beal
Ariza/Webster
Singleton/Booker
Seraphin/Okafor/Jan
We need Gibbs to give em a pep talk or something. We've lost like 5 games this year in the last 2 mins of games. It isn't like the team got swept in preseason (i know preseason doesn't count, but as a unit they should psychologically not be this intimidated), the only good part about facing the Jazz is that they'll be on a back to back. Mo Williams always burns us though.

Can we petition Ted to fire Ernie?
Like leave rational, level headed responses in every one of his dumb blogs?

I posted this :
"Ted, I'm not sure if you'll actually read this, but what they heck. I'm not that old, in my mid twenties, but I've watched 90% of every wizards game since the Jordon/Rip Hamilton days. I honestly think your ownership of the team is being handicapped. You've made some good long term adjustments and I absolutely agree with your philosophy of building through the draft. The problem is, and any hardcore fan of the game of basketball can tell you this, is that our GM, isn't one known for his drafting prowess. I like the effort Randy is getting from the team, and if this was a rebuilding year, I wouldn't be so mad, but wasn't it playoffs or bust this year? I understand wanting stable veterans, but what does stability matter if it just leads to more losing? Its easy for me to make judgement in retrospect but myself along with many other passionate wizards fans were terrified of the decision making Ernie would deliver. I'm confident a core of Wall, Beal, Seraphin and a potentially healthy Nene could lead this team somewhere (with some actual bright spots and improvement in Singleton, Price and Webster), but Grunfeld has mortgaged away the ability acquire real talent for this team and has drafted some questionable pieces as well (not all under your tenure).
I want to buy tickets to go see the team, I just don't know if I can in good conscious as a fan fiscally support Ernie Grunfeld's continual failed decision making. I hope I'm wrong, I hope it all turns out for the better, and as a sports fan, I'll keep believing when every other logical fiber in my body tells me there is no reason to, because if there is one thing being a wizards fans fortifies, its character.
Sincerely yours,
A defeated wizards fan. "
lets see what happens. lol.

Kevin Martin could not cover you.
I like Josh Smith, but he should never ever ever play on a bad or rebuilding team. He would almost certainly go into business for himself and just start jacking bad jumpers. The Wizards are a team that should never take on players who have that gunner gene.
Nene, Ariza and Okafor actually have the right kind of attitude for this team. They just aren't that good and are really over-priced.
Re: The Official Washington Wizards Thread
The Laker's run an offense that doesn't fit their all star roster and they lose a ton of games. Everyone looks at the coach. The Wizards run an offense that doesn't fit their roster and it's because they have zero talent. People are inclined to feel sorry for the coach thinking him a victim. Wittman has never been a good head coach! This team is trying to run a motion offense which they showed off in the preseason. If you've watched the games they have clearly succeed in getting guys wide open shots. The problem is this roster can't shoot worth a damn and when Wall gets back.... the starters will likely be even worse at long and mid range shooting. Nene isn't exactly a stretch four either even if he can hit a mid range shot at times.
The roster isn't good but the coaching is worse than the talent. Wittman doesn't know how to use his limited roster and he's installed an offense that makes no sense. He's taken a bad team and made them so much worse.
Re: The Official Washington Wizards Thread
Destino - TBH, I don't know how many coaches out there could maximize the most out of this current roster. It's REALLY bad. I'd like to give Witt a chance with at least Wall/Nene (or at least Wall) to see if there is any improvement.

I'm not sure that this roster stands out as particularly terrible compared to 2010-2011.
Re: The Official Washington Wizards Thread
The team has got to win soon. We need to beat the Jazz on Saturday. Everyone needs a win. 0-8 was our worst start in franchise history. It happened last year.
