Re: Romney/Ryan '12 Thread
One thing I fail to understand is why both Romney and Ryan can continue to blatantly lie to the public, both in ads and speeches, and not be called out on it by the media. The media keeps clinging to this notion of "both sides do it" and try to make it seem as if there are two sides to every issue, no matter how ridiculous the things republicans say might be. For example, look at the media coverage of this current congress. It's all about how democrats and republicans are hopelessly divided and "both sides" are being childish and refusing to compromise.

Maybe it's just me, projecting my own opinions on the nation. But I don't think it's charisma.
It's the fact that the Republican Party Niw executes anybody who fails to double down on trickle down. In fact, not just double, but quadruple.
It's the fact that every problem facing our nation is met with "I will not permit this problem to be solved, (or even reduced), unless my demands are met".
IMO, the problem is the Republican Party.

Watch MSNBC from 8-11 pm. You'll see every single lie, I promise. Between Rachel and Lawrence, there's more research and digging than I've seen anywhere else. (Ed gets ya all riled up about middle class issues before that.)

Ed's a bloviator in the mold of O'Reilly. He does a good job of getting the sap rising in the crowd but hardly a man of substance. TRMS certainly has Maddow's liberal slant on things, but it's one of the best of the best.
Re: Romney/Ryan '12 Thread
those evening shows are awful. You know who like like this is Alex Wagner who does a 12-1 show on MSNBC. Maybe because she's younger in her mid-30's and comes off as pretty progressive but not so much that its throwing it in your face. I enjoy the show. I think she gets good guests from both sides who will admit when their guy f'd up. You'll have Dem or GOP strategists openly admitting "Yeah, he/she could have done better with X". Well, that and sometimes Michael Steele who is probably thankful for guys like Reince who make him look much better than when he lost his job.

I think Mitt is doing this on purpose people :ols: One man can't be out of touch like this.

I'll bet you $10,000 that he is.
Re: Romney/Ryan '12 Thread
It's gonna be very boring around here after the election. The Romney/Ryan ticket has been pure comedy gold.
After every gaff, I am always reminded of a scene in Deadwood where Swearengen is watching his former-whore limp around the brothel slowly, crippled from a stroke.
He sighs and mumbles, "Every step a ****ing adventure."
Here's a clip. NSFW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJBpcXmOtwY
Sums up their campaign rather perfectly.

He is easily the most out of touch politician I can ever remember. I was too young to remember Dukakis.
Mittens is a rich old white guy who has been on the gravy train his whole life. Its easy to "take risks" and "work hard" when you know that if you fail you won't end up on the streets

We'll always have Biden.
Of course, I have no doubt that Biden has the smarts. Just the disconnect between his mouth and his brain.

“Take a shot, go for it, take a risk, get the education, borrow money if you have to from your parents, start a business,”
If you have to ... was the killer for me. In his view, most kids apparently have enough saved themselves to either pay for college or sufficient capital to start a business.

Not to mention that in his fallback position Mommy and Daddy have plenty of spare cash to fund these inexperienced kids.
