The idea you're putting forth in this post is exacly the thing the right fears, and frankly, correctly. That's the "handout culture" they're trying to paint us a picture of already. No sense helping it along by actually espousing it.
Paying taxes is not about encouraging handouts, although that is the message the rich are trying to get people to swallow.
It's about everyone pulling their fair share, and doing what's best for the country.
But in writing things and believing things in that regard, you make their job to easy for them.

No it's really not. I'm not talking about literally taking money away from him and giving it to 15 poor people.
You have taxes. They have to come from somewhere. And I'd rather have that $15k coming out of his pocket than an extra $1k coming out of a lower/lower-middle family's pocket.
To go further a step further... in 10 years I will likely be in the top 5% tax bracket. I would rather than 15k come out of my pocket than $1k out of the pockets of my wife's mom, her dad, and 13 of their neighbors (every single one of whom is likely voting for Romney).

The National debt would never stop a Republican from going to war. That's laughable. As far as Mitt learning nothing, he was the one that said we had to defeat the taliban before leaving. His words, not mine.

How can you be so sure a flat tax rate is really the way to go? I think there are too many negatives associated with a flat tax rate, especially if you consider it does more to increase income inequality. I don't think it's a sensible solution.

Edit: Hersh: From the President: We would remain in the country during the Summer fighting season “to make sure that the Taliban understand that they’re not going to be able to regain momentum.
do we think the President will allow the Taliban to regain momentum?

I have no problem with income inequality...it is a good thing and a fundamental of capitalism
IF you are worried about accumulation of wealth over the long term it is better addressed thru inheritance laws

There is a difference between that and saying we have to kill all the taliban and must not negotiate with them. No?

This is the simple truth. The relentless talking point about the secret passage of Obamacare is completely and utterly dishonest.

You mean the ones which Romney has promised to completely eliminate? :halo:

Onboard the Romney plane: Jerome Corsi
Comments (60) By DYLAN BYERS | 10/17/12 4:39 PM EDT
Jerome Corsi, the political writer and conspiracy theorist, is traveling with the Mitt Romney press corps today.
Corsi, 66, writes for World Net Daily and is the author of several anti-Obama books, including Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President.
Asked why he was traveling with the Romney campaign, Corsi told POLITICO, "I am a Senior Staff Reporter for WND covering the campaign."
In recent months, Corsi has argued that President Obama may be gay or bisexual and that his wedding ring bears the Islamic declaration of faith, “There is no god except Allah.” In 2004, Corsi wrote the controversial Unfit for Command: Swift boat veterans speak out against John Kerry, which was criticized for factual inaccuracies. Per The Guardian, U.S. news outlets "have accused Corsi of being anti-Islamic, anti-Catholic, anti-semitic and homophobic, and of exploiting racial prejudices in an attempt to 'scare white America.'"
Romney campain press secretary Andrea Saul did not respond to a request for comment.

It's some of the more remarkably blatant snake I've seen in awhile---Rove would be impressed, maybe even distressed. Corsi in the plane. Wow.
