Re: Romney/Ryan '12 Thread

After a season dominated by talk of Ohio, Virginia and Florida, Campaign 2012 suddenly shifted focus to a new trio of states Wednesday amid a new verbal battle about which candidate is better positioned to win on Tuesday.
The new geographic front in the political war focuses on Pennsylvania, Michigan and Minnesota, three states that have backed Democrats dating back at least to 1988 but which Republicans say are ripe for GOP nominee Mitt Romney in his challenge to President Obama.
Republican super PACs have been advertising in those states for some time, and Romney’s campaign has joined in two of them, Pennsylvania and Minnesota, but not Michigan as of Wednesday.
Money spent in unexpected places by the campaigns or their super PACs says little at this point. That’s because, unlike in past presidential campaigns, both sides are flush with cash and have extra funds to play with down the stretch.

It's a win win for me, I come out great with either guy. A little better with Romney, but I don't trust either will actually pull of all they want.

Was I defending Romney in that post? If so, where? I was pointing out Hersh's duplicity in his post. If any party has taken this campaign to the gutter consistently it's Obama. I don't see how anyone would argue otherwise but this board does list to the left pretty consistently. It's just the way things are.

Yeah pretty neutral ... when I put in the correct number. At first I accidentally typed an extra zero and Romney was better by more than a quarter of a million dollars. :ols:

He didn't realize he was thanking people for bringing cans that his own campaign had bought.
These people are rushed. Things don't always make it all the way up the food chain and at different times and places different people end up making decisions.
I agree. I don't think there was any point in making a fuss about this, but I guess it was inevitable that the Democrats would jump on it given where we are in the silly season.

His efforts help the down ticket races....more than one thing in play, and he has plenty of money

I do think it does likely show poor judgement by SOMEBODY. Most likely, somebody told peole they could "donate" cans that the the campaign had bought and knew what they were doing.
And then you can argue about how much that says about Romney.
But I doubt it is as bad as it could seem.

Your last reason is really what it's all about. Excess cash to spend on both sides and there is no reason to keep it for November 7th. I wish I had that kind of money to burn.

I thought the spin was that Obama was sinking to new lows? I guess saying Castro and Chavez would vote for Romney is a substantive debate to have.

Gotta love the "independents" on this forum lol, boy do they love them some Romney
One of the biggest problems in our political system is the "they're both the same" mantra
