40 counts is the very tip of the iceberg if they were pimping these boys out.
This is like Rome circa 150BC.

Just got off the phone with my father, who went to Penn State in the late 60's when Paterno's career was in it's early stages. Thought it might be good to get perspective from an older graduate. He agreed with the BOT decision, though he does think Paterno is being railroaded a little bit. Also is curious why McQueary is still employed. My father, who is generally a mild-mannered person, also stated his wish for a bullet to enter Sandusky's brain. If not self-inflicted, he pointed out that Central PA has a large number of hunters; someone should step up and take the shot because "deer run faster than a 70 year old man."
He said above all, he just feels betrayed. As he pointed out, he's always been proud to be from there, of the "Penn State Way" that's been discussed here in depth. Betrayed was the best word he could use to describe it.

I just can't for the life of me figure out why McQuery didn't do more when he saw that this was being covered up, my guess is he got from someone (probably multiple someone's) the "for the good of the football progam/University" speech...how sadly ironic if true that doing what they did was the WORST thing they could have done for both the program and the university.
Thanks for the reply Elessar. See somewhere in this is where I believe my true question lies. I've seen other posts here indicate that everything physically should be burned down, and I guess thats kind of where my mind was this morning. I don't believe that this will pass. I'm not even certain if as a society we can allow it to pass, and if we do, how do we do so. If you take away the entire aspect of it being a place of higher learning, and just consider it as a place (it could be any place in the world), where disgusting acts were perpetrated against innocent little kids, what becomes of it physically? I know the entire "idealogical" aspect of it being a place of higher learning, etc, is a completely seperate issue, but from a simple brick and mortar perspective, it just seems to be that certain parts of Penn State University need to be demolished to have any sort of attempt to begin to rectify the emotional scars that will (and should) run deep in and around the simple mention of the name of the university and the people involved.
I guess thats why my mind wants to relate it to the VT killings, because they're both physical acts that carry emotional scars. I know here in southern delaware there was a doctor (a pediatrician) found guilty of similar acts against young children, and ulitmately it was determined by the owner of the building where his practice was located, to simply demolish the building, and in some way pray that the sins associated with it would be buried in the rubble. To me that makes sense on some level. How can you ever step foot in the buildings where these acts occurred and not consider what occurred there? Its almost as if the ground has now been desecrated, and how do you move forward with everyday life on that same ground, as if nothing occurred?
Because of these questions, I think I have to agree with those saying that this place needs to be burned down. Maybe not exactly in that sense, but it makes me think that they should begin with sealing them off immediately, and if that happens what happens to the football program? I can see where there is a logic that exists that says this could literally end PSU football when you begin to link the physical "what if" consequences.
Is anyone watching the Tom Bradley press conference on ESPN? I can't get it at work but am curious as to what he's saying.
A theory I heard on the radio last night.
Apparently McQuery's family has been clsoe with Sandusky's family for years before he came to Penn State.
Was Mike McQuery a victim of Sandusky when he was a young boy? Is that why he reacted the way he did?
Just a theory, nothing more
