Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Not sure I've ever seen anyone get from home to third as fast as Dee Gordon did last night during his triple off of Papelbon.

Wow. Did you figure that out all by yourself? Pretty strong logic from a Texan. :ols: ;)
Rumor is that his agent (Boras) was doing a lot of backroom wheeling and dealing, trying to get him to the Nats. Sorry, denied. And worst case scenario, if he doesn't sign, we get a #9 overall compensatory pick next year.
Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Your Pittsburgh Pirates: Sole possession of 2nd place, two games out, one-third of the way through, coming HARD.
Just like last year, but with staying power, legit pitching, and the bats coming around.
Keep laughing.

Seattle pitchers combine to throw a no-hitter against LA.

It's nice having the best bullpen in baseball. :D
Lowest bullpen ERA in MLB, and 25-0 when leading after 7.

you might want to recheck that stat. O's have the current best mlb bullpen with an ERA of 2.41 along with 9 consecutive extra innings wins.
now if we could only get that starter era down..

Uh, actually we had a 2.41 going into today, and the one run allowed by Watson was charged to Burnett.
We're also a MLB best 25-0 when leading after 7 innings.

Whatever, we have a better record!
Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Pirates have had good history against Orioles of late
Props to Orioles for actually succeeding in interleague play instead of the usual struggles
Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
I know he will get overlooked again (cause middle guys do), but I really hope Sergio Romo get's an all star berth.
His numbers the past 1 1/2 seasons are crazy.
87 games, 65 innings, 1.19 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, 93 K's, 10BB's (of which 2 are IBB's).

That's the great question in Northern California these days. He lost all the weight (about 25 pounds) he gained last offseason (this offseason) - so I really think it's that. But who knows?
Probably needs to stop smokin' the bud and focus more. :evilg:
