More info than you might have ever wanted for your team's contracts.
For ease - I have directly linke the Nats, but you can choose any team on the left.
Some good info...

I cannot fault the Dodgers for trying to resuscitate Hanley Ramirez - especially since they keep losing ground to the Giants.
But I think Eovaldi (who the Dodgers gave up) is going to be a frontline starter for the Marlins in the next few years.
Plus, Ramirez sucks as a 3b.
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Lol, Cole Hamels has no business with a contract like that. At all. Hope they re-sign Cliff Lee and cripple themselves financially for years to come!
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
I didn't understand the Hamels signing either.
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Hamels can enjoy being in the cellar for the duration of his career looking up at the Nats as we win pennant after pennant.
Glad to see Nat Killer Hanley Ramirez out of the division. Would have preferred him in the AL but meh...
LOL @ the Braves getting rejected by Dempster.
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
Man, I figured this thread would be bumped with some trade deadline chatter.
Looks like the Phillies firesale has begun: Victorino to Dodgers, Pence to Giants

He would have gotten the same or more on the open market, and Lee is already signed through 15

I love the Pence deal for the Giants. The kicker is how good Tommy Joseph turns into, but he would have to change positions with Posey and Hector Sanchez in the way.
Plus, controlling Pence for roughly #13mil next year makes sense for the Giants. Especially since they are still paying Aaron Rowand this year (a final year amount of $13.5mil) for not being on the team. Aubrey Huff's $10+mil coems off the books too, since they will more than likely not exercise their option on him.
When healthy, they will go Melky Cabrera, Posey, Pence, Panda....that's pretty solid for a pitching heavy team.
Now, if someone would just force feed Lincecum.
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
I like Pence to the Giants more than Victorino to LA. I am surprised the Phillies gave up on Pence already but I guess the decision to sign Hamels to that insane extension forced their hand to cut salary. It makes sense for Philly though to get Joseph in return since Ruiz is going to be 34 next season and I dont believe they have much in the way of catching prospects.
In other news it sounds like Broxton is a Red and Dempster has agreed to be traded to the Rangers.

Melky Cabrera suspended for 50 games for his PED use. Giants fans sad.

Guess that's why he was playing so well this year...
Re: The Royallypwned 2012 Major League Baseball Thread
He did sort of come out of nowhere. He was always a solid player but not like this year's numbers. Cheater.
