CONCACAF 2014 World Cup Qualification - Play Resumes June 4

Yeah, quite painful, boysetsfire. I, first, didn't bother to watch the game. But my cousin and a family friend(big soccer and Honduras national team fanatic) came to my apartment to watch the game like the old times. I don't know what is Suarez was thinking. More like he's just experimenting with new players and such. But this wasn't the good time to experiment. I mean, he had Emilio Izaguirre playing a midfield winger, the man does not play that position. As much I like Victor Bernardez which he represented my beloved boyhood club, he's a terrible defender. With the all the talent that Suarez can choose from, he had to call up some weak players. Like that Delgado, Mejia, and that Johnson kid, and of course Mauricio Sabillon - LOL. Absolute horrible case of midfielding. I'm sorry, but Carlos Costly is done. I felt sad for my cousin and friend for paying for that.

I was at the game, and then watched it late last night.


And TV doesnt give justice to the way Antigua was playing in the back. Really one of the best bunkering jobs I have EVER seen. They had a 6 man back line almost the entire time. A 3-0 result would have been great. Gooch blows now. Sad. Injury ruined him.

It was a miserable night.

Take the 3 points and move on.

Anyone know why the US team needs to ridiculously redesign their unis constantly? The Waldo look is horrible, but I'd accept it if they would just pick a damn design and stay with it.

New kits every two years. It's a complete joke if you ask me. Talk about lack of branding. Anything for a quick buck though, I guess.

i guess Guatemalan stake holders didn't want the game to be televised in the US tonight. that's lame.

anyways, I like our new kits but changing them every two years seems excessive

Every game you see on tv there are plenty of ppl wearing the newest jersey. Same if you go out to a bar to watch the game.

Guess I never really noticed that. But you're right, its all about money. If people keep buying the newest jerseys, Nike will keep making them.

I just bought one of the new Home kits (Not a jersey). I like em.

Tonights going to be a hard test for the US.

If Im offered a draw right now I'd take it.

Today determines whether or not Honduras makes it to the next round.

A two year turnaround for shirts from the major companies like Adidas, Umbro and Nike has been the norm in Europe for years. They'll rotate the home and away shirt on odd years, so there's always a change going on. With the added 3rd shirt which has become more and more the norm and has absolutely no place 9 times out of 10. Often changing every year. Oh, and throw in 'keepers having their own strips these day, for no other reason than to make even more money; and the replica kit market is massive business.

Football shirts are now fashion items as much as fan/ team items; and obviously sell in massive quantities for the demand to still be there.

Just another of the things I absolutely detest about modern day soccer. Which is a business first, and a sport second. Whilst people keep buying these things in their droves, they'll keep on making massive bucks off the back of it. Seems like the US market is just catching up to this mercenary revenue stream.

Good luck the US. And I hope it's exciting as all heck and worth the fee for those of you that have paid to watch it.
