how much does silencer hurt range? on most assault rifles and SMGs, the range goes down 2 notches when selecting silencer, which sucks. but does it really shorten the range a lot, or is it just a mental thing?

What it hurts in range, it makes up for in the fact that your red dot doesn't pop up in the mini map.

yeah, i struggle with the idea of using a silencer. part of me likes it when i show up on the minimap. yeah that's right, you see me, come and get me ;) I'll get the first two guys that come after me, but then a 3rd dude will come from another direction and shoot me in the back.

but with the silencer, i notice that it might take an additional 1-2 bullets to kill at longer range, and that's often times the difference between getting the kill vs me getting killed.

The problem is that literally EVERYONE uses silencers in this game. You put yourself at a huge disadvantage if you are the only one or two people on your team not using a silencer. You're like a giant bullseye on the mini map.

I have never used a silencer. No room by the time I take my must haves....grip and fast clip for me.

I normally use the AN 94

Right now, I'm rolling with quick draw and silencer. I'll probably get the grip when unlock primary gunfighter and run three attachments. I used to use fast mags but I think that the AN 94 reloads fast enough for me. I'm getting into the hang of not reloading after I kill one guy and that really helps. I'll kill one or two and get into cover so I can reload.

Playing hc minimalizes the need for silencer as well, since there is no mini map except when uav is up

I haven't found it, and have looked - is there a hardcore domination?????

I like hardpoint and KC, but I can't find HC DOM.

they had it at the start, but replaced it with kc....because it would be so hard to have both. :ols:

Yeah, I have HC search classes that are separate from the rest. Valid point.

I wish they had HC Dom. I'm a Dom fiend and I like me some hardcore.

i only play hc. this is the first game that i have even really messed with my classes at all. i usually find one set up i like and roll with that. i didn't realize how many people used silencers...i think i tried it once but i get a lot of my kills with assault rifles from mid to long range, so i don't like the decrease in range that comes with a silencer.

Ive been using the FAL and SWAT 556 along with the MCSC. I do best with the FAL, got the gold camo, etc. I got a few questions though, I keep getting obliverated by faster guns it seems, what is the best gun (and attachments for it) for an average/maybe slightly above average (at times lol) player? I play on PC, so there is no auto-aim or anything like that.

Also, on the SWAT 556, when I unlock the select fire, how does that work since its a three burst gun? Will it make it full auto with three bursts at a time?
