Re: Garcon, Sundberg, and all other injury updates (merged--MET)
Maybe we'll see Tommy "Straight Outta" Compton called up?
Wait... did Brown actually count against a roster spot? I thought he didn't until yesterday/today when they had to make the decision.

Yeah, I've read that the team would wait til after June 1st to release him due to cap implications. Don't know the specifics of his contract, but the IR move seems to indicate that the team is ready to part ways with Brown.

Brown's gone after this season anyway. Peace out.

That's how I understand it, DC9. I was under the impression that when the team activated Brown from the PUP list that they had a certain amount of time before they either gave him a roster-therefore cutting a player to make room-or placing him on IR/release.
Also, nice reference to NWA and Tom Comptom. Lol!

I read his hip was sore the day after his first practice.

This is what I can't quite wrap my head around. Though I could understand him being sore after a real practice after returning from the PUP, how in the hell are you that sore after spending 8 weeks reportedly rehabbing and getting well? Furthermore, it's clear that (according to what I read) if he was sore the first practice and did not practice anymore afterwards, how much did the rehab help and did they coaching staff not know that he was still unable to contribute to this team in any capacity? :silly:
IMO, its clear that Brown was still not healthy enough and should've just been placed on IR. Something not quite right with that whole situation. At the end of the day though, Brown is finsihed in the B&G. :logo:

That acquisition was never right. From the trade to the resigning. I'd almost feel better about it if it were an injury he didn't come to the team with. If he came with a bad hip and left with a bum knee. In that sense, we could say we didn't see that coming. But this dude's hip was damaged goods from day one.
Makes you wonder how we may have missed out on wasting time with him.

Thanks!
Bummer about the dude, I was fired up about the trade... but we may as well part ways after this. I'm just mad that when we resigned him we all bought the "He's in good shape now" bill of goods. Hook, line, and sinker...

And, finally, on the RB front. Free agent Tim Hightower finally getting healthy. should be able to workout for teams soon.
That'd be sweet if we could re sign the guy. I think he'd be a solid 3rd down back...assuming he is healthy.

yeah until he slips on a banana peel and both his arms fall off.

I wouldn't be opposed in the least bit against bumping Tom "Straight out of" Compton to the 53.

Ugh, you mean the guy who never missed a game in his career until one major knee injury?

didn't he break his hand in the pre-season last year, and get hurt again after that?
