There's been a lot of optimism going around this board (and I've been loving every second of it!) that the Redskins will beat ATL on Sunday. But realistically speaking, our secondary is just gonna be unable to keep up with their Matty Ice, White, Jones, and Gonzalez. And the only way we win is if RGIII can make enough throws to keep up. But what if it's raining hard enough that ATL can't throw like we know they can?

Both teams have an established running game but I think the Redskins have more options running the ball. The Redskins also have the 10th best run defence and the Falcons have the 29th.

Mother Nature may have just given us a massive advantage hear guys.

Been watching the weather, seems real unsettled most agree on some rain, just not how much or how long. Forecast should come together by tomorrow night to Saturday morning. Rain will favor us though.

Yes, we will shred them on the ground and run tons of PA boots and roll outs, which will keep them off balance all day and allow us to control TOP.

Im curious to see how RG3 plays in wet and semi-cold conditions. Im hoping the rain will destroy their passing attack, which definately benefits us.

I have always felt that the wide receiver knew where he was going and had the advantage over the defense in wet weather.
Trent Williams could make the difference in the game.

Awww Crap!!! I don't mind the 55 degrees, but I absolutely hate sitting at a game getting soaking wet. This is where I wish we had overhangs. I saw 65 with 30% chance on Tuesday. Now 2 days later it's 10 degrees cooler (don't mind) and 40% more chance of rain. Dammit.

Rain is the enemy of the defense not the offense. Good QBs are relatively unaffected by rain. I doubt it will affect Ryan at all. Especially since they are just calling for periods of light rain. This is a much bigger problem for our defensive backs. Receivers know where they are going. Defensive backs have to react quickly which increases their chance of slipping on the "real" turf. We don't want rain, guys.

We will win regardless of weather but it does help.

I have the same feeling. A sneaking suspicion we win by a comfortable margin. Shock the world.

Weather favors the passing game.
When it's slick, the receivers in open field have a major advantage in that they know their move and when they'll cut, while DBs and LBs do not.
Down inside in the running game it's all the same.

I think this is a game Robert should direct from the pocket. Ryan will likely give him a good show as to how.

Definitely think rain will help us, and Michael Turner fantasy owners haha.

Praying for rain, our NFC beast rushing attack and defense will play to our strengths while letting us smack them in the mouth. With rain the whole game my prediction changes to 28-17 Redskins.

I don't think that rain provides much of an advantage as some have proclaimed

grrr, we have a suspect secondary as it is...don't need that compounded with them slipping and sliding all over the place against Atlanta's receiving core

Unless it's going to be fierce winds to go along with the rain, Ryan and co. shouldn't be effected much at all.
