Either take a flyer on a young guy to develop, and stick with him. Or bring in a proven vet. to compliment RGIII and look again in the off-season for the long term.
Retreading the Gano path is utterly pointless. To say he's better than Cundiff isn't saying very much.
All I know is that when I saw him smiling as Dany Smith was talking to him after the play (apparently asking what went wrong), I wanted to beat him down and shove a football down his throat. Between that and his comment after the game that his missed kick didn't matter to the outcome because they lost by 4, this looser cant be shown the door fast enough.
Kai Forbath sounds like a name George Lucas would have come up with.
Max Zendejas of the Kicking Zendejases
Ali Haji Sheikh
I literally seen people mention Cooley as a replacement for every injury/cut we've had...
you guys need help
Ocho Cinco has a pretty good leg, and we could have some sweet swinging gate plays. And celebrations would be a +1.
I vote for Kathy Ireland to be our new kicker
Graham Gano is a good NFL kicker with one of the strongest legs in the NFL, who was hamstrung by Danny Smith's awful directional kicking strategy and his inability to field a decent blocking unit.
I guess I'll have to repost this again.
Very, very few kickers can make a kick when their blockers get pushed 5 yards into their face off the snap.
Look where the LoS is.
Look where Red Bryant is when the FG gets blocked.
The whole hatred of Gano was never actually based in actual facts, just emotion and frustration. The facts say Gano is a good kicker who was nearly perfect from 48 in, barely missed one from 49 and the rest of his misses were from 50+. And the fact that he's still working hard and staying in shape gives me a lot of confidence about his mental state and toughness. My only concern is the back issue, but if he's healthy, I am for him until he proves he can't play.
Bring Gano back now.
Great post RG Exp. That's exactly what I've been saying.
Sometimes, the grass is just always greener. Or when you get green grass, it burns out and needs reseeding.
I think we should bring back Rackers or Gano, but someone would have to take the I was wrong pill.
I wonder how well Danny Smith handles kickers. In their ear all game, proper drill work; something is not right.
Has the now decades old trend to move to soccer style vs toe kickers been proven out stat wise? I would almost swear Knight Mosley and Lohmiller (honorable Mention, Steve Cox) had as good of accuracy and distance as any of our modern day kickers. who have the luxury of turf and domes more often than not.
