Have Anakin be an actual grown man when he meets Obi-Wan, consistent with the OT's exposition, have superior character arc for Anakin and Obi-Wan and just have a superior version that meshes with the OT, tells a deeper and grander story and then sets the stage for the 7-9.
I just...they were so bad I don't even consider them 'canon'.
Well, heck, all they'd have to do in a reboot is cut Jar Jar Binks out of the storyline and that is a 1000% improvement. :D
The prequels, while some parts were good, were a mess. They really screwed up the Jedi. "Always in motion is the future" Yoda once said. Yeah, apparently too fast for the Jedi to see half the people they trusted were betraying them. :ols:
And what they did to Vader? Anakin becomes Vader because he is a whiny little brat who feels underappreciated?
The prequels were disappointing on a lot of levels, but I don't know if I want to go there again.

Jokes aside, think of all of the directors and FX crews that are foaming at the mouth to get their hands on an actual Star Wars project.
Joss Whedon owned the Avengers. I'm sure something similar will happen for Star Wars episode 7.

He couldn't.
If you see the documentary 'Empire of Dreams', Lucas was having a lot of problems with the unions at that time.
He got into trouble with them when he didn't put any opening credits in the first "Star Wars" film in '77. When he did it again with 'Empire' in 1980, he was hit with a $250,000 fine.
In angry response, Lucas pulled out of the writer's guild and the director's guild. So he couldn't use the unionized ones (whether it was because of some rule or because these writers/directors didn't want to cross the union, I don't know).
They say in that documantary that Lucas was going to get his longtime friend Steven Spielberg to direct "RotJ", and Spielberg wanted to, but the union issues stopped that. So Lucas got some European director to do the movie.
Would've been interesting to see a 'Star Wars' film directed by Speilberg in his prime.

Well, here's one speculation on the upcoming Trilogy and it states their will be one after that.

I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan Singer is now directing).

'Star Wars' sequel: Harrison Ford open to idea of Han Solo role -- EXCLUSIVE
Harrison Ford is open to the idea of bringing Han Solo back to life on the silver screen in 2015, according to sources close to the just-announced Star Wars sequel, but don’t be surprised if his contract includes a mandatory death scene for the sly old space smuggler.
“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” said one highly placed source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher, the trio that made a hyper-speed jump to global fame on May 25, 1977, the opening night for George Lucas’s original Star Wars film.
Re: foxnews: Disney buying 'Star Wars' maker Lucasfilm for $4.05B
I enjoyed X-Men First Class but haven't seen the other films that were mentioned. My hope is that whoever takes over the franchise makes truly awesome movies.
Interesting news on Ford, also. Didn't think he'd be up for this.
Re: foxnews: Disney buying 'Star Wars' maker Lucasfilm for $4.05B
I don't know where the idea that Ford didn't appreciate the Star Wars movies came from. He's taken part in Star Wars documentaries and interviews before. He also took part in the Star Wars 30th anniversary photo with all the other Star Wars alumni.

He's Harrison Ford. If showed enthusiasm for anything, he wouldn't be Harrison Ford.
He's participated in some Star Wars activities - mainly documentaries and such - but he's never made it a career. He's certainly never gone to a convention or anything like that.
By the way, I love the fact that he still seems pissed that Han Solo did not die in ROTJ and wants to come back to right that wrong.

LOL. A-list movie stars don't attend conventions. But I agree with what you said. If he does get killed, I hope it's a highly guarded secret. I don't wanna be spoiled. That one thing this new trilogy has over the prequels is that we won't know who lives and dies.
