Brown didn't get a death sentence from the voters because he compromised. If anything, that is the only reason the race was as close as it was in that deepest of deep blue states.

I wonder if we will have an Iraq/Aghanistan veteran President. We have just about made it through the baby boomer generation without electing a Vietnam vet.
