Every team does this and it never works. Doubt that'll change now.
As always, the difference maker in this game will be 1) ball control and 2) whether or not our D ****s the bed.

Outside of mimicking our QB, seems like they have something else in mind as well:

Hope someone gets this to the locker room.Quote:
Although Griffin obviously has the capability to confound defenses, defensive end Pernell McPhee has a rather simplistic plan for what to do about the electrifying rookie.
"We got to hit him," McPhee said. "Hit him, hit him, hit him, and make him break. He's good, but we put our pants on the same way he does and we get paid, too."
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Your fists can't hit what your eyes can't see. :)
It's not like stopping the read-option shuts down this offense. We can always go more conventional with a traditional play action element. Hell, we ran up the score and iced the game through the air on the Cowboys primarily out of singleback looks.
That's what makes the read-option/pistol looks especially dangerous... we don't have to use it to beat you but it still requires a ton of preparation.
The Steelers didn't do a particularly good job against our scheme, our execution was just so pitiful that they didn't have to worry about the passing element like they should have had to.
Just heard from Skins Insider that Reed Doughty played Ed Reed's role at practice yesterday...should give us an edge.
Edit: Someone beat me to it. Although I would have used Reed not Jordan Pugh. Reed Doughty is funnier :)
This is straight up horse****. If Dennis Dixon could actually simulate RGIII, he'd be a starter in the NFL. Instead he's bounced around AFC North practice squads as 3rd string.
Why is this startling? Clearly other teams do this too. Teams don't just sit around and twiddle their thumbs waiting to play other teams, they gameplan. Most teams have someone on them that can run the read option. Less teams have someone than can run the read option, pass out of pro formations, have amazing play action skills, and pass on the run.
This isn't news at all really. They aren't dealing with the real thing so they can't be totally prepared. Their D is very pedestrian as well, our offense will be able to move the ball.
Lol the funny part is they are all so excited in the article...omg Dennis, it looks like the tape!!! Go ask JPP how the tape worked for him.
I hate the Harbaugh brothers, they just annoy me...I know the Ravens always try to intimidate players, so they will definitely be head hunting RG3--the def. coordinator says we are going to tee up and forget being cautious...the way our offense has been rolling, if you aren't careful, RG3 will burn you
Key to this game, red zone efficiency!!! We need to punch it in and not settle for FGs...stats show Ravens give up lots of yards
HA! I don't care if you had the actual RG3 at your practice, that's the point. It's still going to beat you. It's going to take some kind of completely new philosophy to stop the Redskins offense. All defenses can count on now is drops and other mistakes.
Besides, none of this stops AlMo. How awesome it is that defenses forget about AlMo.
It doesn't matter who they use even if they had RG3. If they know whats coming they can still get beat. On a side note, I do like Dixon though as a QB
Yep the Giants 'limited' us to just over 200 yards rushing second time around.
There is a lot of tape on our offense now and al teams have guys who run 4.3/4.4 40's who can simulate some of our option looks in practice but thats a world away from facing it in real tome when the lights are on. Also its one thing to know what might be coming its quite another to make the proper reads under pressure in a game and have the discipline to play your role when all your instincts are telling you to do something different. The Ravens defense is not good against the run this year anyway - they are going to really struggle to stop our running game Sunday.

God i hope they get agressive and come after us. The read option will kill them if they start crashing down on RGIII and RGIII is the highest rated passer in the league when the defense send 5 or more rushers. If linebackers pin back their ears on some of those play fakes Garcon will be wide open on those deep crosses as well. Bring it on!
