If that's indeed the case, it's an extremely bad sign for the troubled receiver's NFL future.

Is this the same? Man, if so... Obviously it's because Titus isn't down with the cause.

Orakpo is going into the final year of his rookie deal, and CBS' Jason La Canfora expects the Redskins to make "every effort" to sign him long-term. Orakpo has 29.5 sacks in 49 career games.

This is great news!
As much **** as I give the dude on here, I love him as a player and he's great for the locker room. I wish him the best in recovery and taking that NEXT step to being dominant.

They say "Detroit based-writer" because he was fired from his paper in Detroit before being hired by ESPN... so I'm not sure if he has a job or not.

Again, let Orakpo play out the last year of his contract and see how he does before we go long term. JMO.

Vikings | No intent of trading Percy Harvin
Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said the team "has no intent" of trading WR Percy Harvin and that they expect him to report to training camp like the rest of their players.
Giants | Kenny Phillips could get tag
The New York Giants could consider placing their franchise tag on impending free-agent SS Kenny Phillips this offseason.
Lions | Could use tag on Louis Delmas
The Detroit Lions could consider placing their franchise tag on impending free-agent FS Louis Delmas this offseason.
Dolphins | Expected to use franchise tag
The Miami Dolphins are expected to use their franchise tag on either impending free-agent OT Jake Long or impending free-agent CB Sean Smith.
Buccaneers | Could consider pursuing Aqib Talib
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could consider pursuing New England Patriots impending free-agent CB Aqib Talib this offseason because they will be looking for a cornerback and are familiar with Talib.
Titans | Jared Cook main candidate to get tag
The Tennessee Titans are expected to use their franchise tag and impending free-agent TE Jared Cook is the most likely candidate to receive the tag because the two sides are not expected to agree on a long-term deal in the near future.

I'm inclined to agree here. Only way i'd give him a new contract is if the guaranteed money is minimal and somehow it creates a bit more cap space in 2013...but that doesn't seem realistic to me at all so i'd say let him play 2013 on his current contract too.

He doesn't fit the plan of acquiring youth that Shanahan has demonstrated.

I'm wondering if Carriker's position is secure. He did impress me in 2011 and was clearly unlucky in 2012. But based on his contact, he won't see 2014 without a restructure. We could save $3m outright by cutting him, which would be harsh on him (but just a bi-product of limited cap space)...or maybe he does restructure this year...not sure but we have big money invested in Bowen & Cofield so Carriker's situation may well be one to watch imo.

Titus Young - WR - Free Agent Rams coach Jeff Fisher did not get into specifics when discussing why the team waived WR Titus Young on Friday.
"We spent probably four or five days with him," said Fisher. "At the end of the interview process, we decided it was best for us to go another direction. Perhaps Titus is better suited for another organization." Fisher did say the Rams put Young through an "extended interview process." Unsurprisingly, Young's interviews were unimpressive. He's likely to clear waivers now. Related: Rams

I would say a mid year contract extension would be best? Assuming he returns and say be mid season have about 6 sacks give or take.
Mid year extension would go on the following year's book right?

We brought in stop gap attempts like Tanard Jackson and Brandon Merriweather last year, that's all Woodson would be. This FO isn't above grabbing a guy just to get by if that's the best they can do. But I do agree about his price tag.

Good move by them... I would have liked to pick him up but I had no idea he was a FA... He was a beast at Virginia Tech and local boy, went to Stone Ridge HS in Ashburn.... nickname is "Godzilla" for his aggressive style.

In all honesty, I really do think Shanny and Bruce brought in TJax and Meriweather to be the starters for a while... I do not believe they were meant to be stop gaps.... Meriweather has the talent, and we can't predict an injury. He showed the flashes when he was in... My only problem with TJax is he reminds me of Kareem Moore, he can't tackle. He does hit hard when he ges the chance though.

I mean, Meriweather got 2 years and TJax got a one year deal for the minimum, if I'm not mistaken. If they thought they were long term solutions, they didn't treat them like one.

You would rarely bring them in off FA/waivers and sign them to a contract extension immediately.... It's almost always "pay for performance." Doesn't mean we weren't thinking of them as long term. Still both fairly young and play at high levels. To get them at the lower price is golden, although I'll be amazed if TJax is resigned after the incident.
