Definitely do it this way. There's a reason the first trilogy are referred to as prequels rather than the second trilogy being called sequels, if that makes any sense.

I also thought it was VERY cool when you first figure out that that annoying little green guy is a Jedi master.

    I say watch 4-6 first.

Plus, I think the light saber fights in 4-6 would be a letdown after seeing EP 1-3. That is one (maybe the only) area where 1-3 is better than 4-6.

DVD's for both 1 and 2 have deleted scenes. A couple were cool, a couple were like, "good call".

I would also have to say the order they were released IV, V, VI, I, II and III.

But it would be cool if you could someone who never saw Star Wars or knows anything about it watched them in order from I -VI.

I have never seen star wars except for 2.

So this week i saw 4 5 6. I must say I was let down. I guess its cause I was expecting so much more............ and that they were made 30 years ago.

They weren't bad I just can't see any of the action or buildup everyone is talking about.

    sigh

The Empire Strikes Back is on Spike HD right now.

And I will show them to my son in the order I saw them.

    BTW his name is Luke.

The first one is Star Wars.

    Han shot first.

Next movie was Empire Strikes Back, which nobody said was called "Episode 5" until the movie actually came out.

Then Lucas went back and changed the labeling on Star Wars, and called it "Episode 4: A new Hope". (That way he could sell the same movie again.)

I think it's currently selling as "Episode 4, Version 5.3".

Have them watch the '77, '80, and '83 films..then show them the awful recent ones. If they see the most recent ones first then they won't appreciate the old ones because they might think it looks dated.

I watched Star Wars in the theater in 1977 during the original release. The beginning of the movie started out "Episode IV a New Hope"... Followed by all the text describing what was going on. It reminded me of the time of the Buck Rogers shows on the late, late show at the time.
