Winning + stability in players/ franchise = jersey sales
Redskins not = Winning + stability in players/ franchise
Hence Redskins not = jersey sales

Address Winning + stability in players/ franchise and the jersey sales will follow.

Why does someone have to be a bandwagon mofo for liking the birds? The team has alot of personality as well as having pure superstars or stars in training such as Westbrook, Sheppard, Lewis (Michael) and LJ Smith.

Face it, the team is very popular in the country as well as the world in general. Winning and having a plesent groupl of guys makes you very likable.

Last year I went to the Skin/iggle game in Philly. I was at an all day tailgate for the 4:00 game, in a parking lot next to a strip of trees. Everytime I stumbled over to the trees to relieve myself I would see scores of Donovan McNabb's in the woods doing the same. I stood out in my Clinton Portis jersey, and for other reasons, so they gave me plenty of space. I'm now convinced that every guy in Philly owns a McNabb shirt. My eyesight may have been slightly impaired but it was a little like Night of the Living Dead to see all those # 5's skulking around in the woods.

    Nope.

Matter of fact, I live where alot of Eagles fans exist: and Eagles stuff was all up, jerseys worn and trash talked. Yet after the SB it all dissapeared.

    Oh well......
Well, I happen to live in the D.C. area, and people seemed to stop wearing the burgundy and gold after the season was over also. Fair Weather? Of course not. The season was over. When the season ends, the majority of fans wear their colrs with far less frequency. Especially jerseys.

That being said, I believe there are plenty of fair weather Eagles fans due to their recent success. Most of that happens outside the regions that typically contain Eagles fans. That happens whenever teams perform though, and it certainly doesn't take anything away from those fans who are legitimate. Those are the people that should be thought of when you think of typical Eagles fans (insert insult here).

I'm sure if someone took a comparitive look at Skins jersey sales in 1992 and right now there would be a dropoff as well.

There is a collection of fans that simply float from front running team. The fact that they have temporarily settled in green jerseys does nothing to illegitimize the strong fan base the Eagles have had for years.

I'm buying either a Ramsey or Rogers jersey this summer. I wanted a Taylor, but I'm scared now.

Ahem, I think he was mostly referring to Moss being the top seller. Which obviously he wasnt last year because the article would have stated "for the second year", like it did with Vick.

The the rest isnt for you #5.

McNabb is a very popular player in this league. Love him or hate him it is true. Same as Emmitt Smith was.

The Redskins are always in the top 15 of this type of thing with teams like the Cardinals and Panthers pulling up the rear.

Not able to find a Taylor Jersey in Cali ? Who knew..geez. 3 teams in Cali and one in Arizona. Why would they have a ton of merchandise at stores ? Order online.

wskin, although #5 (supposedly ) doesnt have a Mcnabb jersey, most fans go for either the biggest star or the guy that will be there for a while to make their investment worthwhile. Personally I dont own a jersey of a current player. But I have got 7 great Redskins players (Monk, Green, Butz, Riggins, C. Taylor, Mosley, and Jacoby).

    Thanks for the sig LCSF
