    Default Molinaro and Wilson?

Has anybody heard anything as far as progression goes with these two guys? I seem to remember one of them getting some playing time or even a start in a few games last year but i havent heard anything at all about them since we drafted em. Does anyone think they can make a contribution to the team or were they wasted draft picks?

I went to the Nats game today and it was the first time Ive been to RFK. I was day dreaming about the skins running up and down the field because baseball is SOOOOOO BORRRRINNNNGGG!!! :gaintsuck

Molinaro played some last year and held his own as I recall.
As I remember, Wilson wasn't impressing, but that may have changed. i haven't seen anything about them during the offseason, but based on what happened last year' I'm expecting Molinaro to grow into a decent backup this year, and go from there.
We had a couple of young guys play well when given the chance last year, Ryan Boschetti, Chris Clemons to name a couple.

Wilson started at tackle in the Steelers game but then I believe he got injured and didn't really play again. Molinaro even got some PT as a DT in goal line situations (the Detroit game in particular)

Someone needs to step up, we are thin at tackle. Camp will hopefully produce 1 or 2 solid backups for us.

They are both projects. They both played some last year and did well. I think that they will be solid this year if called upon (God I hope not), and one of them will be very successful in the long run.

well, I now understood why we drafted them last year when we really could have taken anyone. They only now know Bugel's system, and they are 1 year pros now who can provide better depth.

I know others have pointed this out as well. Drafting 2 FB's was weird, but it obviously shows Betts, Rock, and anyone else are on the line right now as well.

Q- How are Wilson and Molinaro progressing?

A- Look no further than who we've added thru the draft & free agency. Any tackles ? no. any guards? no.

I'd say they're coming along just fine.

The last quote I remember was last season from Gibbs, where he said they were originally drafted with the hopes that one of them would develop into a starter. He said, however, that both could eventually become starters, so they were very pleased in that regard.
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

If I can recall, Wilson started in the Pittsburgh game last year, and played fairly well considering the circumstances(first career start against #1 D on the road).

I Don't think Jim Molinaro will ever amount to anything beyond a backup. I don't think he has enough football smarts to be able to really learn the position at an NFL level. But hopefully he will prove me wrong.

Exactly. Neither of these guys is Samuels or Jansen, meaning they were drafted with the expectation that they would be capable of starting right away.

They're three to four year projects (assuming they continue to improve) before they could be considered starting quality. That's not putting down on them either, that's just the way it is.
