Default Crazy game at RFK and we need a new stadium

Went to the Nat vs Dodgers game last nigt and was 4 rows behind Joey T

LA hit 4 HR's and I do think we need a new stadium now. RFK is costing us big time, 3 different Nat hitters hit it all the way to the 410 sign in deep center, heck 2 did back to back in the bottom of the 8th and we only got on triple out of it. All three moon shots would have been a HR in any other park, but not here and it cost us last night

I'm not sure I agree with your logic. The Dodgers were able to hit 4 out of the park, and hit a couple to the warning track. If we were in a smaller stadium, we might have gotten 2 out, but the Dodgers probably would've gotten 6 out. Simple fact is, we can't score more than 4 runs a game. The Nats deserve to lose until they can get their men on base home. Period.

They hit the warning track near the 335 or 360 signs not the 410 which in reality is 425 The Nats all hit it dead center. All the Dodgers HR's came on the smaller part of the field, however they did just crush them and would have easily cleared the 410 sign.

The Nats would have had back to back hr's in the 8th that would have scored 3 other runs and would have had plenty to win.

If we have to break down games like this, with this should'a, could'a, would'a stuff, then the Nats season is over. This is THEIR home stadium. They should be most comfortable playing in it, not opposing teams. I'm sorry, I can't buy your logic. It's just more excuses for their pathetic play.

sorry if you don't like my logic but if that game was played in any other park it would have been 8-6 win for the nats

i also think some players are going to stay away and we might lose some because of the part, look at Jose he has what 19 homers and only 1 from his home park

The park is universal...both teams have the same dimensions to deal with.

Whats sad is that we had more Walks and more hits then them and they beat us.

We cant hit w/men on base.

Our home record was the best in baseball thru about 40 games so there is no room to complain about the fences.

Our guys are just hitting hard to the worst parts of the field.

I could see the fences being moved in next year by 8-10 feet all throughout the stadium.

Here's my counter-logic. If the fences had been moved in, how many games might we have lost previously? I seem to remember, particularly early in the season, players of opposing teams saying they couldn't believe their hits didn't make it out.

    It works both ways.

I actually think that RFK suits the Nats perfectly. Last night was an acception--opposing teams hit those warning track balls more often than the Nats on a nightly basis. The Nats are, for the most part, not a power team anyway but a team that hits a lot of doubles and is athletic and excellent defensively. While the park robs them of the occasional home run, it robs the opponent much more often and helps the Nats pitchers.

Completely agree. The Nats should have the advantage since they know that a shot to center in generally not going to go out. I know it is a huge advantage for the pitchers since they know they can pitch to the outside part of the plate and not get hurt.

In the long run the park has helped the Nats not hurt them. Their win-loss record at home pretty much shows that.

Right now, this stadium suits this team just fine. If we were in a hitters park, we would something like 40-88 right now. So, I'm glad that we play in a pitchers park. We have a good defense & we force a lot of teams to play smallball to win. I like that. Especially right now.

Yeah, but HRs don't always win games. They are exciting, yes. But they don't necessarily win games. The Nats are not a HR power hitting team. They are a Smallball club. At least right now, anyway. I don't know anyone that thinks that having a Pitchers Park instead of a Hitters Park, has hurt us. It has most definately hurt our opponents, but never...NEVER us.
