Need opinions...

Hey guys... I need outside opinions here....

I currently work for a company in Herndon (I live in Ashburn about 10 miles away). My new manager is starting to drive me crazy (but my company would NEVER let me go), so I decided to see what opportunities are out there. Well to put it short, I got offered a job for 15k more a year doing the same stuff! The only down side is that it is in Falls Church (the Skyline area near columbia pike) which obviously is more of a drive.

What would you guys do?

Is there a difference in the quality of the two companies? Are they equally stable financially?

One is a WELL KNOWN media company who merged with a *cough* *cough* crappy internet company, the other is a smaller company which seems to be doing quite well who primarily deals with DOD contracts in addition to developing corporate applications so that is always a steady industry.

Like I said the biggest issue seems to be the drive... maybe someone knows a quick way to Falls Church/Columbia Pike that I don't know about that can avoid traffic?

Take the job. There is no need to stay in a position where you are unhappy. Believe me, the extra commute will be worth it. Life is too short, bro.

You're pretty limited when it comes to Ashburn->Falls Church.

Thanks bird... yeah I got 2 golds and 2 silvers, but the big thing was that I made qualifying times for FINA World Championships which is going to be in San Fran next year.. first time in has been in the states in 12 years..

Yeah but the one I have now is a 10 minute drive, where the other is a 45-55 minute drive..

Understand the convenience of the short drive, but as stated above, if you're unhappy with where you're at then it might be a good idea to take the drive and the extra money. and that doesn't look like a small amount either. Will pay for extra gas, even at the present prices.

You'll spend the extra 15 G's in gas.

You should leave Northern VA, move to the country, and buy an ATV like I did. It's much better than wasting half your life in traffic.

Also we got rid of the gas guzzler GTO and bought a Jeep Wrangler on Friday
