Bears starters possibly worn out for opener?

Will the Bears starting O be a little more beaten/worn up facing us on Sept. 11th than our team?

I have to think Lovie will put Orton out there for at least a quarter to a half to get his snaps against 1st and 2nd teamers. Same will be said for Benson and one has to think the Bears starting O will be there to protect Orton.

Knowing that we'll probably bench our starters after 1 series with the Ravens, one has to wonder if this will be a slight adavntage to the Skins come Sept. 11th?

The flip side to this is that Chicago is very thin at the QB position, so they may not keep all their starters in ... because they can't risk additional injury at this point. Also, Cedric Benson will get work regardless of which line is in front of him.

It doesn't matter if they keep their starters in the whole game. They will still have over a week off. Even if they play every quarter it will be like playing us following our Bye week. Nice, but not enough to make a difference.

Speaking of after Bye weeks, I notice at least 2 teams get their Bye week before they face us this season. No fair!

the Redskins are a year ahead of the Bears. We have solidified lines with veteran players. The Bears are very young. Portis is a better NFL back than Thomas Jones and Benson won't be in game shape for some time. Ramsey has to be the favored pick at qb over a stone rookie in Orton.

on defense the Bears feel they will have an improved defense in 2005 while the Redskins KNOW they already have a playoff caliber defense and will be looking to add some publicity to a unit that didn't get its share in 2004.

I don't think that's going to make a difference. What will count is that Orton hasn't had enough reps with the first team offense to be effective, and Benson should have gotten his sorry ***** to camp sooner. But never underestimate any team at any time. I'm only confident that Coach Gibbs is going to drive it down our guys' throats that you have to play hard every down to beat each team in this league.

Im not really worried about a win or loss against the Ravens. However, it would be interesting to me to see Ramsey have at least two successful drives right off the bat...
I would also like to see Brunell perform with the entire first unit against the Ravens starting unit. Not trying to create a q-back contreversy or anything....

Benson's not playing this weekend. Also, we should win the game, but it still scares me. We're not good enough yet to overlook ANYONE.
