Default The Chiefs game is a must win for us

    1. It's a must win for them, that makes it a must win for us.

    2. It's too early in the season to have two losses.

    3. Good teams don't have losing streaks.

    4. The Chiefs are a bad team. Good teams beat bad teams.

This might be the most important game of the season. This, despite the fact that it's against an AFC opponent.

I don't agree that they're a bad team, but this is a must win for us

Have you seen them play their last two games? And you still don't think they're a bad team?

Our defense really needs to step up more than anything this week. This is a true test for them. The Chiefs' dynamic offense will be well prepared for this week. I'd say, this is a Must Win for the Chiefs, too. So we better be very prepared.

They seem to have some mystique about them because the game is being played at Arrowhead. Gibbs will have the boys fired up and ready to own KC this weekend.

They lost to Philly by 6, and got trounced by Denver IN Mile High.

Arrowhead itself is going to pose problems to our offense.

Missing key players on both sides of the ball had a lot to do with how bad they looked. I hope the team doesnt take them lightly because of their performance the last 2 games.

Bad time to be playing in KC, comming off the bye week. May turn into a flagfest early if the D don't shut them down. Due to noise. Got to put them to sleep early and chew up the clock. If they don't then forget about anything form the shotgun. I hope they stick to the ground and just smash it. I'd rather hear the WP complain about a boring win than a sloppy loss.

Why is EVERY game a must win game?

This is not a must win game. If we were to lose this game, and then beat San Fran, we would be 4-2. That's pretty good after 7 weeks!

So, this is not a "must win." It is, however, a big game.

Every game is not a must win. We are progressing fine and we are looking good. I think we will win this game and move on to 5-1 after SF. But if we lost I don't think it would derail our chances this season.

This is a playoff team, no doubt.

Why should we assume that someone who is rich enough to buy a football team [after borrowing from every bank and relative he could find] is qualified to be an NFL general manager? We should not." --Spence, of DC Pro Sports Report

KC has only lost 2 home games after a Bye week since 1990. (9-2)

In '98 against the Steelers and 00' against the Raiders.

The Raiders went to NE to lose in the infamous "tuck" game. The Raiders went 12-4 that year. The Chiefs finished 7-9.

The Steelers went on to become a 7-9 team after starting 5-2, they lost 7 of the next 9. The Chiefs finished 7-9.

The Redskins need to bring it early and often against this team. Take the crowd out of the game and then control the clock and ball for the rest of the game. I dont care if its ugly. Just win.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

It may be a must win game among fans, because if the Redskins lose people are going to start talking smack again but not for the team. "Must win game" is way over used. Especially when you are 3-1 and on top of your division.

Quick question, what is the definition of a "must win" around here, does it mean that it would be nice to win? Or does does it mean if we loose this game the season is scrapped and we play for next year? Or does it mean that winning the game is more immportant than an adverage game, or more immportant than a divisional game?

So many times we have played a must win game, lost, and then the next game is a must win. If I had to pick oout our wins an losses, I rather loose to an AFC team, than an in division team.

I think of it as an easier equation.
We beat Dallas, Dallas beat Philly, Philly beat KC.
I know it really doesnt work like that, but it does for me.

Not only do I not view this game as a must-win, I'd probably call it the least important game on our schedule.

Generally, road games at AFC teams are the least important games of the year-- that can change of course due to circumstance, but in this case, I think it holds true.

If we lose this week and beat SF, we'll be 4-2 headed into the two game test against the Giants and Eagles. IMO, THOSE will be the "important" games regardless of what our record happens to be entering the games.

When you only play 16 games, every game matters, and every game could make all the difference in the world-- in that respect it IS an "important" game-- but not relatively speaking.

The only real "importance" I see this week would be from a perception standpoint. If we win this week, I think we'll vault into the top 5 in most power rankings and media types will begin to really take us seriously-- but who really cares?

I see the Chiefs winning this game by 7-10 points, and I think a lot of people will begin to panic. Then, we'll beat SF and things will calm down a bit. THEN, we'll REALLY find out what the 2005 Redskins are all about.

    Patience my friends, patience.
