    Default Crock pot recipes??

With cold weather finally upon us, I broke out the crock pot this week to make a meal for supper. Only one problem...I only know of one thing to make.

    Beef roast.

Here's my only one: Beef roast

    Beef roast(chuck,shoulder,pot roast type cut)
One packet of Liptons cup of onion soup
    2 cups of water
Put beef in the crock pot along with the onion soup
Turn on low for 5-6 hrs.

This works great for me. You can throw it in the pot before you leave for work, come home that evening and it's ready. Add some mashed potatoes, biscuits and greenbeans and supper is served.

So,anyone here have any good recipes for the old crock pot? I'm needing some new ideas.....

You have to add in the potatoes and carrots when you put the pot roast in. That way, they get nice and tender.

I always add mustard, A-1 and Worcestershire sauce to the water, just for kicks.

You can sub a pork tenderloin instead of the pot roast. Delicious!

I recently made a pineapple/pork chilli in the crock pot. Used the small white beans, lots of pork, pineapple juice, garlic, chilli pepper, etc...........Of course you could make all sorts of chillis in there. The Crock Pot is a man's best friend, throw everything in raw, with some spices, and by the time you get home from work, Tasty Dinner.

    You don't -- its fake-me-out barbeque.

However, you can make some MEAN jerk chicken in the crock pot. I buy the pre-made rub and a bunch of chicken. Rub it liberally all over, and then throw the chicken in for like 4 hours. It melts in your mouth its so good!!

Oh yeah, crock-pot tip: If you are cooking chicken, put a layer of thick-sliced onions at the bottom of the pan. They soak up a lot of the grease so that your chicken isn't swimming in it by the time your'e done.

This one takes a little prep but is very tasty. Cut up a chuck or should roast and dip pieces in flour so they are covered. Put a little oil in a hot skillet (don't burn yourself) and brown the beef. Once they are brown to seal in the flavor, place them in the crock pot with parsnip, carrots, onions, garlic, celery, salt and pepper, and some dark beer. I usually wing it items like that and it comes out good. If you seem unsure about it go to the foodnetwork.com and there are tons of recipes.
    GO SKINS!!!
