    Default Hasslebeck vs Brunell

This is real quick and simple. I get on the radio and I see Brunell ripped and Hasslebeck exhaulted. I turn on the tv, and I get the same. I come on here and I see 50% of Redskin nation calling for the head of Brunell......even after a playoff win. You know what is interesting about this? Even considering the fact that he has worked with this "anemic" offense Brunell's numbers are neck and neck with Pro-Bowl starter Matt Hasslebeck. He has thrown one less touchdown and one more interception.

    Hasslebeck: 24 TDs - 9 Ints

Brunell: 23 TDs and 10 Ints

Looks like they are a little more comparable than the masses would lead us to believe. But then again, Hasslebeck's numbers did come against a much tougher schedule ......

Dont get me wrong Brunell is a good QB.
But Matt is a little better, not much.
A few more big plays, a little better accuracy, etc. He is just a little more consistent.

This week the Redskins have a chance to throw a wrench in the plan.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

The only reason Brunell was awlful last week is that Gibbs told him to take it easy, cause we gotta play Seattle next week.

Man, can we pull out the dissrespected card anymore this week?

C'mon guys we sound like a bunch of crybabies.

The truth is, Hassleback ceded a lot of his TD's to Alexander.

    Here's some numbers for you:

    Hassleback QB Rating = 98.2
    Brunell QB Rating = 85.9

    Hassleback Total Yards = 3459
Mark Brunell Total Yards = 3050

    Hassleback Fumbles = 4
    Brunell Fumbles = 12

    Hassleback Fumbles Lost = 2
    Brunell Fumbles Lost = 6

And before you write off the fumbles as part of having inferior protection...here are the sack #'s Hassleback sacked 24
    Brunell sacked 27

So yes, if you pull out JUST 2 stats TD's and INT"s than these two look pretty close.

However, when you consider that Hassleback sat a lot toward the end of the season to make the yards even more lopsided, when you consider Hassleback normally gave to Alexander inside the 10, whereas Brunell often did that bootleg....

Brunell is running out of gas...he's our best option, and he had a good year.

But Hassleback actually is better, in a lot of areas.

Can we stop feeling like we have to be the favorite in this game?
