Some coaches just don't do very well in thier first HC job. Example - Bill Bellinchek at Cleveland, Shannahan at Oakland. Gregg Williams has the best teacher anyone could hope for. He'll learn how to deal with people and become a much better coach.Originally Posted by #56QBKiller
One would like to think that working with Joe Gibbs for a few years will help just about anyone. Certainly Williams. He and Saunders both will be just fine when Joe eventually steps down.
I agree, we have quality coaches with a legendary mentor to prepare them for the next step, (whatever it may be).Originally Posted by Park City Skins

Seriously though, I don't remember Belichick in Cleveland. I know that he coached there and didn't do such a hot job but I really don't pay much attention to the Browns anyway.
I understand that coaches can do a better job the second time around, but I also understand that some don't. I just think that Greg should stick to what he's good at and that's orchestrating an effective D.
I guess we'll see what happens in a few years.

No Jason Campbell may play this year. JG is not leaving for another 3 years. So why are we talking about his successor for the 2009 season. I just find it strange that I've seen several threads addressing JG successor, when he is going to coach for another 3 years. So who does everyone think will be M. Washington's replacement at LB when his contract is up. Sounds silly doesn't it? We haven't even seen Saunders coach here yet, but there are people already picking favorites to take over in 2009. How do we know if Saunders and Williams will still even be here? Maybe there is a candidate that we haven't even thought of yet. My point is there is no way to know what is going to happen 3 years from now. We should be more concerned what this team will look like in 2006, not 2009.Originally Posted by flexxskins
