Default Latest Review of Jason Campbell's role

The scenario of Brunell and Campbell seems to fit all the positive projections some of us have been making about that situation, as well as the rationale some of us (like me ) endorsed for Gibbs to trade up and fill a need we knew was coming at a time when we'd have the choice to let him sit and learn for a year. Also includes a little compliment from Coach Gruden. No bulletins here, just a filler piece but still has a believably positive ring.

I cant wait for Campbell to start. I just have this feeling he is going to absolutely light it up! Anyone who is down on Campbell smokes crack. This kid is going to be a monster. I think he will be better then McNabb. Yeah, I said it, and I plan to stick by it. It may be a long shot, it may be too early to tell, but I think he is going to be a great Redskin, and I dont think McNabb is that good.

I agree Stew, this kid should be a monster with his size, athleticism, and intelligence. From what I've seen in college and some films, he has a cannon and can run and throw while on the run. I can't wait to see him take over the reigns. And for sure, once he does, there will be no "black on black crime" like over in philly....

If, as appears, he has good feet & pocket awareness...decent accuracy and excellent size...understands the game...has a 2-1 TD/INT ratio with four diff OC's in four years...has youth & toughness...sound like expecting good things is reasonable

Make that excellent accuracy We saw it in the preseason and gibbs and company have been saying it all season.

Redskins.com has the full article, ,but he is of the Gibbs tree, gets picked then sits for a year or two to be fully conversant with the system, Gibbs stated that he would "win games with his feet", this is now seems to be a large part of the new era QB arsenal, the way defences react these days there always seems to be the chance to make the first down by running and being so big he will be hard to bring down.
It would appear by reading the Redskin.Com article that Ramseys days as a Redskin are numbered, or is Brunell going to be the number 3.
All i know is that i am waiting with baited breath for the next season.

My dad is an Auburn alum, and I was born in Auburn, so i have followed the just as much as I have followed the Skins. Jason has been the best QB that school has had for a long time. He is a great passer with great mobility (not a vick runner, more like Brunell in his prime) I trust Gibbs, when Jason is ready, he'll play. But I have this feeling we won't have to wait long, and we will all be pleased with what we see.

I don't agree with making Brunell the starter again. But as we've seen with Ramsey, being proclaimed the starter right now means nothing in regards to who will really play come opening day.

I'd like to see it be an open competition between Brunell and Campbell, if Jason isn't ready at least he would've had the opportunity to try and we will be absolutely sure we need Brunell for at least one more season to sit in until Campbell's ready.

I think Brunell has earned it going into offseason, the title, thats it. When it gets down to the get down, You show you're the best, you play. If Campbell comes out of the gates throwing strikes around like seconda nature, you will see Brunell get benched quicker then Ramsey did last season! Oh, and while we are on the topic of the red headed step child....the day after our season ended, he was at Redskins park with a Uhaul, I saw something on Channel 8 news the very next morning. He's gone.
