I don't think I'd enjoy working in the Big Ladies section very much. (Is that even a real section?)

I always thought, out of all the department store sections, that the Men's Shoes section looked pretty laid back. Anytime I walk past one I never see more than a couple people in that section, if anyone at all.
Do you ever see young dudes working in the men's shoe section though? Seems like an old dude's job. Also, I don't think it's possible for any retail job to be laid back. I thought the same thing about working at OfficeMax in college - I mean, how stressful can it be to sell some printers and paper? Yeaaaaaaaaa no.

you got lost in the deserts and made your way to the gulf due to your best friend since birth, Hector, and his horrible navigation skills. You, Hector, Ramon, and Tito all piled into a raft and tried to float to Texas, but the raft was torn apart one night and you all were split up. You somehow found some floating driftwood and used that to brace yourself as you floated for days until eventually the current brought you to shore.

it is there, in Corpus Christi, you fell in love with a blind Mexican girl named Lupe and you had 3 kids - John, Jimmy John, and Jose. That is why you need this job so badly, Jimmy John has bad eyesight and needs glasses, Jose cant read, and John needs braces for his back due to scoliosis.

Cologne seems like you'd be busy a lot of the time.

    That's what I'm saying.

Most people already know their shoe size and what kind of shoe they're specifically in the department store looking for. You might have to put their feet in that little metal sliding measurement thing and double check their size, and then maybe press around to find their toes in a shoe they try on, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be much to do.

Why do old guys always work in the shoe department though?

Because there's not a lot of activity going on.

Agreed about retail being stressful (usually in strange, particular ways, depending on the job and the store- I worked merchandising at Best Buy for the holidays once and it was seriously physically and mentally exhausting at times), but I'm just saying- if I had to pick between any section in a department store, I'm pretty certain that I'm going with Men's Shoes as the easy choice. Or at least the easiest choice, compared to the other sections.

I couldn't imagine the Little Kids section or Women's Shoes sections by comparison.

My first job was working in the womens section at Sears. I quit after two months and never worked retail again.

Women ask too many questions that I don't have answers for.

Wrong, I don't do jack **** in the Electronics department. Half the time I'm standing there watching TV. Make a few sales to close out the day and it's all good.

What woman goes to Sears to shop for clothes?

My first job was a cashier at Giant....I didnt make a lot of money (6.50 an hour) but I did see a lot of funny stuff which made for great story times....also, the hot girls that shopped with their moms made it fun too.

It was mostly old women or moms in their late 30's-early 40's. I hated working on Saturdays.
